If you mean that, even when you connected the Olympus USB cable correctly, the computer does not recognize the camera? If so, connect the camera to another computer to check if the camera or usb cable or the original computer is causing the problem. Often the computer does recognize the camera as a Removeable USB Device. You can see that when using e.g. the Windows Explorer. If the problem is only, that the installed Olympus software is not started, when connecting the camera to the computer, check the settings of the [ib] software by running it manually. Otherwise re-install the [ib] software.

Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
- Do you mean that the computer does not recognize the camera?
- or do you mean, ehen connecting the camera, the pc does not launch the ib program?
- Does the camera memory show up in windows explorer as removeable usb device?
