SOURCE: battery not holding charge

Probably the battery is dead. You may need to purchase a new one.

SOURCE: battery not holding charge

I had the exact problem as the other two above but resolved the situation as follows: I connected the battery to the charger and switched the power on. The charge light on the battery glowed 'red' as it should and some time later, not as long as it should have been, the light changed to 'green' indicating it was fully charged. At this point I removed the charge lead from the battery and then replacedit. The charge light reverted to 'red' again. When it eventually changed to 'green' I repeated the above step and did so for the next 18 hours. I then connected the battery to the player and played a dvd 1hr 55min film. It worked fine. I hope the solution works for yuo!!

How to charge battery

You need to use the supplied battery charger to charge the battery. The battery goes into the charger, and then you plug the charger into a wall outlet.

You can download a copy of the manual from the manufacturer's web site at http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCW100

Battery charge

Simply plug the included power cord into the power input on the DVD player. Leave the unit "off". Allow to build a charge. The included power supply items are:

Flexible power supply: up to 2.5 hours rechargeable Li-ion battery,
