Question about ASUS A52F-XT1 Notebook
Several things could be at issue, but we start with the obvious. The very first is to make certain that the (generally) mechanical switch that controls your wi-fi on the laptop is turned on, typically indicated by a light near the switch or elsewhere. This is the usual cause of WiFi malfunctions. Another is a driver problem, in which you could just uninstall your driver and have Windows restore it for you. But as a warning, if you do that, it's best to have a CAT-5 cable for direct connection to a router handy in case your driver won't reinstall. The last thing is that the wireless network adapter has malfunctioned. It's unlikely, but you can either replace the one built-in or purchase an external (very cheap at placed like NewEgg, Tiger Direct, or Meritline).
