Shorter wipers are the easy way out. With the wipers parked remove one of the arms completely off the car. Not the blades, but the whole arm. Reposition the arm so it is just above the other wiper blade and push the arm back on.

How to replace a 99 se Bonneville windshield wiper motor

Windshield wiper motors are generally easy to replace. You need to remove the windshield wipers and take off the small grill panel above the hood and under the windshield. You should see the motor in there. It simply unbolts and unplug the electrical connector and replace it with a new one.

How do I access the wiper linkage on my 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. the right wiper still moves but the driver side one stopped.

The grill that covers the area the wipers are attached to comes off. If you pop off the tabs on the connection point of the wipers you will expose a bolt that holds the wiper arm. Remove that and then remove the screws that hold the grill cover on. Once those are removed you will be able to see the whole mechanism.

You must remove the wiper arm to make sure the serrations on both the arm and where it mounts to are not damaged. Turn on the wipers and see if the nub that the wiper arm mounts to is moving.

If it isn't, there is a mechanism called the Wiper Transmission. It is located in the cowl at the bottom of the windshield. The device has a number of arms. The arm that connects the right side to the transmission is off. This is usually the fault of a small round plastic piece at the end of the arm. Simply putting it back on is nit recommended because it will probably fall off again. This plastic piece is attainable at most good auto parts places.

How do i adjust the front wiper arm

your best bet would be to put shorter wiper blades on car, if the arms are not out of adjustment. you can tell if the arms need readjusting. by watching and make sure they go all the way down and stop ok without hitting trim on windsheild bottom. hope this helps ! good-day !

Windshield wipers are broken.

Wiper motor rarely goes bad, and a second one going bad as well is extremely rare. What will burn out a motor is very high resistance to movement from the wiper assembly. Do the following: Take out the wiper motor, and move the wipers by hand to see if they are hard to move, or if the arms (rod mechanism) are rubbing against anything. Do this with the blades in normal position, resting against the windshield. Pour water unto windshield while testing it, to avoid scratches. One telltale sign for this condition, is the wipers going too slow before complete stoppage. Either that, or an electrical connection leading to the wiper motor, for that simply check that there is electricity in the wiper motor connector when wipers are activated.

How do i remove the wiper arms from my 2005 Towm & Country?

First, please make sure you need to. You don't if you're just changing the wiper blades. I have done this several times over the years with the 4 vans I've owned and found once that I didn't need to pull the wiper arms to get where I needed to go. If you find you must pull them, unscrew the bolt that holds them in place, which is under the plastic cover that will pop off with touch of a small screwdriver. Before you do anything else, mark the wiper arm at the point where it connects to the wiper shaft so you can get it lined up correctly. An alternative is to use some tape on the windshield itself to remind yourself how the blades lined up so you get them back on correctly and without having them move either too far or to little across the windshield. With that done, I have used a battery terminal puller positioned over a towel that will protect the plastic grill under the wiper arms - but try simply pulling the arm off the drive shaft with a forceful tug with bare hands, but odds are it will be frozen. Remember, 1) the drive shaft is at an angle in relation to the windshield, so pulling up will cause it to bind - you have to pull at a slight angle. and 2), grip the wiper arm close to the point where it goes on the shaft, if you pull from too far out you'll bend the arm. If you have to resort to the terminal puller, you need to line things up so you are pulling at a slight angle and put the "arms" of the terminal puller on the outside of the wiper arm and the little post in the middle on the wiper shaft and then turn the handle on the puller. Probably works better with a helper, though I've always done it solo - probably took me longer and created a permanent hatred for having to do this in the first place. Putting a little lube like WD40 on the shaft before you start doesn't hurt. I have also found that a few taps on the lower side of the wiper arm from a rubber mallet while I had tension applied from the terminal puller didn't hurt either. Good luck.

Windshield wiper arm disconnected

My dad helped me solve this problem on my truck...

They simply pry off. He put down a towel to protect the cowl grill, took a hammer (using the split end) and pried them right off.

There was no mechanism holding them on, when we were done working under the grill, we used the same towel, but the other side of the hammer to stick 'em back on.
