One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your

hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

Hi,
From the description of the problem, it seems that either the power switch of your PC or the power supply cable is faulty. Also, please let us know if the motherboard LED is glowing or not. Do reply for more assistance.

My computer needs the power button to be toggled several times before my computer will start. I hear a beep and a click (floppy drive)every time. I have just put in a new hard drive, cleaned dust from...

Substitute another power supply and see if that corrects the problem. If it's not the power supply, it's going to be the capacitors on the motherboard. Inspect the caps for any signs of swelling (tops domed). If they show signs, they're toast. They can be replaced if you have the soldering skills and eqipment, or know someone who does.

NO SOUND - MOTHERBOARD ASUS P5S800-VM

According to specs the sound is " SIS964 " go to device driver and check to see if sound drivers installed if they are not it will have yellow mark on them.
Try downloading M/soft UAA drivers first and install them a lot of on board sound require them
then when installed go to drivers again and update sound one will go on net and download and install them
I have had boards that said one type of sound but used another driver to get working

I have Asus P5S800 main board

dr-afacan, You unfortunatley are not giving me a lot of info to work with. There could be several things to try. First check your cases front panel to Board connections. Then if they are correct I would swap out the power supply with anything compatible to check and see. If that PS is really OK. If you do not have the info for the board go here http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5S800-VM/e1767_p5s800-vm.pdf

Next step would be to either check the processor, possible BIOS settings or update. Or you unfortunatley just have a dead board. Asus has a good customer RMA system... Just some thoughts.....PCdok

No any display in the monitor, no beep of the RAM while CPU fan is running

Check your power supply. It sounds like you have a bad power supply. Even though the computer powers up, it does not mean that it's good. I have had this problem before, and almost 9 out of 10 times the power supply had gone bad. Just try a different one and see. hope this helps you.
