The blade must be held tight while you unscrew the bottom plate off. I use an old towel jambed into the blade area to do this for the blade of course is very sharp

Is the blades supposed to come off when I take the container off of the blender.. My blender is brand new sat for 3 or 4 years after I bought it. . The first time I used it , it was extremely hard to get...

You did not specify a brand or model number of your blender; however, most blender jars will lift off their power base without turning or with only very little turning motion to release them from the base. The blade assembly should NOT come off as you remove the blender jar from the power base.

Were you successful in removing the bottom ring which normally screws on to the bottom of the blender jar from the powerbase?

You should make sure you have properly attached the blade assembly for your brand/model.

The blender blade assembly should be held on to the bottom of the blender jar by the bottom ring which screws on clockwise; most will have a sealing gasket that fits between the blade assembly and the sealing surface of the blender jar to prevent any leakage while in use. It will take much more turning to unscrew the bottom ring to release the blade assembly than it should to release the bottom ring from the powerbase.

Assemble your blender jar and blade assembly and try a dry run by placing on the powerbase, giving a couple of bursts of power, and then seeing if you are able to remove without the blender ring unscrewing.

Make sure you are comfortable with the action required to remove the blender jar from the powerbase before you put in to use.

Good luck!

I need an owners manual for the Mega Pro Blender: HPB270N Where can I get one?

It looks like your blender is actually made by Waring. The best option is to go to their website and request a manual from them directly.

I need to replace the bearings in a Waring CB4 blender and don't know how to remove the square drive coupler so that I can get to the upper bearing. I can't find a schematic for it on line and Waring no...

The square drive coupling unscrews, it will come off in the same direction that it turns when it runs. Look on the bottom of the unit and youll see the motor shaft, you can put a socket on the bottom to hold it still then you have to unscrew the coupling from the top. The same direction the unit turns. You cant get to the upper bearing from the top. You have to take the bottom off of the unit and remove the whole motor armature. After taking the drive coupling off. I buy from a company called ALLPOINTS they carry a lot of parts for that unit. The one I buy from is in Orlando Fl. 18002431290 Check the motor brushes while you are in there.

My waring blender quit working. There was no burnt smell, just quit running. Is it repeirable?

Hi Cindy -

Technically, everything is repairable. The real question is: How much are you willing to spend on repairing an old blender? You should bring it to an appliance repair shop for an estimate, because without actually seeing it - it is going to be anybody's guess as to what is wrong with it based on the info you've provided (it is often difficult to diagnose this stuff by description only as most times methodical testing is required) . It may be a simple, inexpensive fix - or it may "break the bank."

While waiting for your estimate, you should price a new blender. You may find there are some that have more features for less than you paid for the Waring model (or even less than the repair estimate). Once you have the price for repair and the price for a replacement, you can decide which path is best for you.

I hope this help & good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!

I have a Waring Blender 51BL25 that just stopped working. Can it or should it be repaired?

Hello Patricia. We are clearly living in an age of replace rather than repair. The reason is simple. Repair shops generally will not look at a small appliance for less than fifty dollars. Putting that much money into a repair than may be short lived doesn't make sense when a replacement blender is often less than fifty dollars on sale. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

My blender won't power on, the lights don't turn on. I've had the blender for 1 year and have never had any problems with it. In the past month it would only work intermittently, and now it doesn't work...

sometimes something (food etc) gets "stuck" in the lock mechanism, preventing it from turning. unplug the blender and give the locking mechanism a cleaning with a bottle brush or rinsing it under very hot water. also the lock could be broken/chipped, also preventing it from turning.

i must admit that I broke my locking mechanism 5 years ago by not "seating" it correctly and forcing it. my hubby somehow removed! the locking mechanism but now it goes on - turns - as soon as I plug my blender in (because the stop/lock doesn't exist anymore). so I must be very careful to always have the lid on before I plug it in. but it's a braun blender and I love it. so i've kept it all this time.
