It is broken. you must buy a new one. You could put all your wet clothes on a clothes line and dry like the good old days. An easy way to save money.

Why is my dryer not heating ?

Likely the heating element took that opportunity to quit. These's a possibility something came loose but you need a good handyman/electrician to check the element and you will need the serial number/make/model etc off the sticker on the back when looking for the part or handing it over to your local appliance shop. Bear in mind the time you have had it and whether to bin it and buy new.

My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Enter your model number to see parts for your dryer.

Help me find my model number

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is
defective.

Timer
The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Frigidaire afinity dryer E 64 service code

According to other research (and my final diagnosis of our dryer), this is often caused by "sticking keys" on the main control board (Frigidaire AP3851145). Not usually faulty heater coils. The part is available online from $110 to $250. Not real easy to change out, but doable if you are a handyman.

My kenmore oasis dryer comes on but doesn't run

The tumbler is belt-driven so it could be a broken or slipped belt. It isn't hard to replace the belt itself but sometimes getting to it can be a real pain. Search online for service manual or diagrams if you want to attempt it yourself.

My Creda dryer would not work when turned on. Just making a humming noise and smell of burning inside when on.

You most likely have a warn out turning mechanism(not the actual word for it). It most likely does not catch anymore so the tumbler doesn't turn. The 2 parts that come together, one from the motor mechanism and one from the actual drying drum propbably have worn out and don't mesh. This would cause the motor to spin but slip against the part that turns the drum causeing friction that creates the burning smell. Dryers are not very difficult to work on. Your best bet is to have a handyman freind or inexpensive handyman to take it appart and repair it if possible. Good luck.

The dryer is running, but it has no heat. When you place the dial on 30 minutes it doesn't move at all, it just stays on the number. It does run and move the drum around, but no heat at all.

I have AEG Lavatherm T-300-W dryer and it is not drying anymore. I checked front door filter and it is ok. Is it thermostat or blower problem? Thanks, Tom

If it spins, it's your element...but if its your element, it could just be your thermal fuses...which can be repaired rather than replace the whole element which is very expensive. operations@handyman.co.za or www.handyman.co.za
