How can i get the bios password for an acer aspire 5610 laptop?

Hi

you could have a read of this i found it somewhere
some people get help from it

When you pull the cmos battery it will set your cmos back to factory
defaults.
Do one thing first, Your CMOS holds a lot of important information so before you go messing around with the battery WRITE DOWN YOUR SETTINGS.
There are a few different ways to reset the cmos, here's a few:
1. there are many default common passwords,
such as:
At boot-up note the BIOS provider (Award, AMI, Phoenix, IBM, etc.)
For Award BIOS' try these backdoor passwords:
AWARD_SW
j262
HLT
SER
SKY_FOX
BIOSTAR
ALFAROME
Lkwpeter
j256
AWARD?SW
LKWPETER
syxz
ALLy
589589
589721
awkward
CONCAT
d8on
CONDO
j64
szyx
For AMI BIOS' try these backdoor passwords:
AMI
BIOS
PASSWORD
HEWITT RAND
AMI?SW
AMI_SW
LKWPETER
A.M.I.
CONDO

For PHOENIX BIOS' try this backdoor password:
phoenix
there are too many to count here's a list
http://www.phenoelit.de/dpl/dpl.html
(search for PC BIOS)

2. On some older PC's pressing the insert key upon startup will clear
the CMOS, make sure you hold it down till it's done booting.
3. Another way which we pretty much already covered, was to pull the
metallic nickel looking battery that supplies power to the CMOS.
4. Some times there is a small three pin jumper used to reset the bios,
just move the black little pin cover to the opposite two pins.
(Make sure to read the motherboards manual before this)
5. If the battery is soldered in you can take a soldering iron to it but
I don't recommend it unless you are a professional.
6. there are a few programs out on the net which are made to crack
certain types of bios passwords, I have one for award BIOS's here's a
couple:

HI

without flashing the bios at startup with the alt/F2 and the bios rom it is very difficult to bypass
this without purchasing special software

but some people get some help with these suggestions

Lost bios password which was the serial and dont have it is there a way to bypass

Hello

First, remove the case to look at the motherboard, so we can try resetting the CMOS battery. This battery looks a shiny little disk the size of a nickel. Pry the battery free gently, and reinsert the battery after 10 minutes. If this worked and you don't see the password prompt, you don't need any more steps; the problem is fixed. In my experience, two or more additional steps might be necessary depending on the make of the BIOS. Unfortunately, they don't all respond to the same tricks.

Next, now that the case is already removed, locate the jumpers near the edge of the board or near the CPU or the CMOS battery. Once located, find the label that will say clear CMOS, or clear password, etc. Place the jumper over the pins and boot. If this works, no more steps are needed. If it doesn't work, read on.

The third step to try is to enter a password. When you receive the password prompt, try one of the following passwords. If you have an Award BIOS, try these; AWARD PW, ALFAROME, or _award. If you have Phoenix BIOS try, CMOS, PHOENIX, or BIOS.

If none of these things have worked, as a last resort, try a software utility that resets system passwords. These utilities can be found online.

My customer has a gateway p-171x notebook that has a bios setup password he does not know-how can I reset that? I have taken out the battery and it disn't work. It is a Phoenix bios

Sadly, many Gateways models must be returned to the manufacturer to have these passwords reset.
Try A Phoenix Backdoor BIOS Password The reported Phoenix BIOS backdoor passwords include BIOS, CMOS, phoenix, and PHOENIX. Try one of these passwords and see if they will unlock it.

If that doesn't work, there could be a jumper located under the keyboard if your model has one.

The last thing to try would be to open the unit and remove the CMOS lithium battery to clear it. This is of course a last resort and is not for the weak at heart. You may void the warranty if there is one by doing this, so be careful.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. Please reply with the fix if one of these works.

Forgot my bios password

You can try some of these backdoor BIOS passwords : BIOS, CMOS, phoenix, and PHOENIX ...
Or if you could you can open up your notebook, take out the battery that keeps the CMOS fresh, and wait a few minutes, then try.

OR, try this software solution ... It could come in handy! Works on most common BIOS-es
