Question about Mantis 2-Cycle Tiller
If you have not already performed routine maintenance this year replace the spark plug, fuel and air filter. Make sure you are using a fresh and proper fuel/oil mix. Check that there are no leaks from the primer bulb or fuel lines and that the carb is not loose (allowing it to pull in to much air). Failing that start it and let it warm up a minute or so. Then use something to support the tines off the ground and hold the throttle wide open (protect yourself and others from the rotating tines). Adjust the fuel mixture screws on the carb as per your owner's manual or until you find the 'sweet spot' and know the engine is running at full rpm (you will be able to tell by the sound). If these steps do not solve your problem then a carb repair kit would be the next step. Good luck.
