The memory inmay have become corrupt and needs to be reset. Please follow the instructions below to format the memory. Once the format is complete you'll need to copy your songs to the player again.

  1. Plug the unit into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Click on 'GO' at the top of your Desktop screen and select 'Utilities' from the list (up arrow key, Mac key, and the 'U' key at the same time).
  3. Scroll down and select the 'Disk Utility' program.
  4. Highlight 'DSC_FATDISK' located in the upper left hand corner of the program.
  5. Next click on the 'Erase' tab at the top of the program.
  6. Verify the 'Volume Format:' is set to 'MS-DOS File System (FAT12)'.
  7. Next click on the 'Erase' button and this will bring up another window.
  8. Click on the 'Erase' button again to verify the format.

What's free 4mb of space mean?

if your device tells you that it is a 512Mb that is the total space on the device, if it is telling you 4mb of space it means there is only 4 more mega bytes available for you to store music, information, etc. some songs take up to 9 or 10 Mb so just do your math. and that is the number of songs you can load to your device.

if it works for you, don't forget to rate me
thx

I lost my disney mix max charger

There are several types of chargers you can use with the mix max....car charger, wall charger, USB to computer (FYI turn your computer off while charging and it stops), and my favorite - the speaker station. Just do a search for disney mix max charger on the internet, amazon, or ebay and several options will come up. I like the speaker station because it is easy to charge with it and lets my daughter use it as a stereo and dance unit if she wants.

Deleting music on a mix-max

As far as why it's stopping it could be several things; there could be a problem with the track itself being corrupted or, depending on where you got the tracks, they could be protected with Digital Rights Management. The memory in the player could also be corrupt as well. I would start with reformatting the memory in the player to correct any potential corruption there might be. Below are three links that will answer both of your questions. Always make sure you properly disconnect the player from your computer to reduce the risk of corrupting the memory and causing these types of problems.

Error free 4mb of space to build music library and disney mix max won't play any songs?

The memory may be corrupt and it can't read the music files correctly. Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You should see a new removable disk called Mix Max appear. Right click on the disk and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back to your player but it should correct the problem. When adding the songs to the player again make sure that you leave at least 4 megabytes of space available so it can create the library file.

Driving me nuts

It has to make a library file of the contents on the player. It uses that file to display the titles and artists when scrolling through the menus and what not. You'll have to format your player in order to clear it up. This will erase everything and then you can put your songs and stuff back on it. Just make sure that when you do you leave at least 4 megs of space for it to make that library file. Here's a link to the manufacturers instructions on how to format the player.
