If more pieces have come apart, those parts are likely broken. You may need to replace the head holder. See link below

How to use an electric shaver

If you are a using an electric shaver for the first time, I hope that this article will get you going. Proper techniques will ensure the best, closest shave possible. Maintaining the razor by properly cleaning and recharging it will also ensure that the razor works correctly and does not malfunction during use. Proper care and maintenance of the electric razor will also ensure that the razor will last for years to come. Consider this article as a shaving-best-practices template for your first electric shaver.

Firstly, clean your face and dry it. Electric shavers do a better job when your face is clean. Turn the electric razor on and begin shaving against the direction of hair growth, moving the shaving head linearly and in circles. Circular motion Stretch the skin with your other hand to make the hair stand up straighter so the razor blades shave closer.

After shaving, turn it off and rinse the cutting heads under warm water. You can also use jet clean system once a week to clean your shaver. Make sure that you charge it for the time specified in user manual. Overcharging may cause damage to the battery.

Tip

Make single edge razor blades shaves smoother and last longer!

If you shave with a single edge blade, add a few drops of liquid soap onto the Hot blade edge,"Before you shave." After shaving and before storing, Rinse and clean the razor with hot water and shake dry!
It will be good for many, many shaves.

What is an electric shaver?

Not like shaving razors, electric shavers work by shearing the whiskers, the hair enters the perforated metal heads of the shaver and is cut by the moving blade inside.

How should I take care of a straight razor?

First you need to strop the razor on a daily basis, you should also horn your edge every once in a while. Moreover, you need to prevent corrosion from forming on your razor. In order to do so, you would need to rinse your razor after each use and allow it to dry properly. You should also keep the blade well lubricated after each shaving session.

What are the advantages of straight razors over modern razors?

The one big advantage of the straight razor is that if you take care of it properly it can last for a long time unlike modern razors which you simply throw away after a few shaves when they come too dull to use.

Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler can not remove blade to change

I think some of you have it mixed up... this is the Pro Styler, a sort of powered stick that has interchangable heads (one for shaving, another with a guard & the one that comes installed on it for 'styling", i.e. trimming up sideburns, etc).

Anyone have a better idea? I can't seem to remove the styler & I'm actually sitting here with a face full of shaving cream as I wanted to try out the shaving portion of this rig.

What does a flashing red light at bottom of display when you turn razor off mean looks lit the 3 rotary blades

It means they want you to buy a new shaver head. U dont need too, and the light will automatically go off after 7 shaves from when it first came on.

Plastic retainer for the shaving blades is broken

You can buy a replacement shaver head and screens from an Oklahoma shaver business, electric shaver company.

Here's a link to their site and the page for the Norelco shaver you're looking to get parts for. The 3rd item down is the shaver head and screens, blades, etc.

I don't think you can get just the plastic retainer all by itself, as the manufacturer makes a complete head and blade as a replacement set, however, you can call them to see if they have just the retainer part you need. But frankly, it's likely a good idea to change shaver heads every so often to get the best shave, etc., so you might just want to spring for the complete replacement assembly part #HQ9 on this site for under $40.00.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
