SOURCE: i have power in to the control panel but no output

The Dynamic DS100 is not a sealed unit but is usually a replacement part. Unfortunately there are very few people in the UK that actually repair them. If you would like to open up the box to have a look at it yourself, the procedure is as follows:

Remove the 4 visable screws from the bottom of the box
Remove the smaller of the blue rectangular stickers from the bottom of the box
Remove the screw that was hidden by the sticker
Remove the 4 screws from the front of the box (where the plugs fit in) and pull away blue plastic part
Lift off the bottom metal cover
Remove the 3 screws that hold the lower PCB in place
Gently lift the lower PCB upwards to reveal the upper PCB
Remove the 3 screws from the middle of the upper PCB
Lift upper PCB out to access the top of the board

Hope this has been of some help to you.

Good Luck!

hi, the six flashes indicate a speed pot issue, the pot is not in centre position when you turn the scooter on, it a case of looking at the cross thread on the bottom of the stem and making sure that it is centre to you when sitting on the scooter or use a multimeter to get a 2.5 to 2.7K ohms centre reading.

How do I check the battery charger to see if it is functioning properly

Some chargers need to be connected to the batteries before they turn on the charge current. With the charger connected and switched on, check the voltage across the batteries and should be about 26 volts for a 24 volt system. And you can use an amp clamp meter for current flow.

HELLO, I AM WONDERING WHERE I CAN LOCATE A MANUAL FOR A ( SHOPRIDER 3 WHEELER, THIS MODEL HAS THE LIGHT PACKAGE, COIL OVER SHOCK SYSTEM. AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A MANUAL. AND KNOW WHERE TO FIND...

All Scooters are 2ea 12 volt batteries in series = 24 volts dc
Serial numbers for a shoprider are on the seat post or body frame, some scooters over the years have lost the sticker and you won't be able to find one.
Here is what will help you get a manual.
Call Shoprider 1-310-328-8866 or 1-888-896-8866

I have a silver leader 4 mobility scooter with a dynamic ds 100 unit under the rear end the status light is flashing 7 times which from what i have been able to find out is the wig wag potentiometre have...

hi,
ok so 7 flashes is a speed pot related error, you need to make sure that the speed pot is in the central position , look under the stem and you should see a cross head , now that should be straight not at slight angle, without you touching the throttle lever , if you have a meter disconnect the pot and take a resistance reading, it should show about 2.5K - using the centre tap , if it is a 5K pot fitted , in fact for that controller it should be a 5K pot , please check the terminal connections on the controller, good fitting and clean.
Take leave feedback.

After about 1 km on any power setting the scooter slows down on its own then surges up to power again. it gets a small back emf and this seems to help but is persistent some tiime down to 2 km/h checked...

Based on your description of the symptoms, I would load test the batteries, check the throttle potentiometer, speed potentiometer , motor brushes and motor brake. I cannot determine your specific model based on the way the problem was posted, so it is difficult to give specific advice.
Weak or old batteries will give the performance you are describing. Fully charge the batteries and load test them to determine their strength. Batteries more than 1.5 years old are suspect. Without a load tester you can do a load test by connecting your digital voltmeter to the batteries and run the scooter under load (driving it with weight on it). If the voltage drops more than 1.5 volts from a starting voltage of between 24 and 27 volts the batteries are weak.
Generally speaking, you can do a resistance check of the potentiometers throughout the range using a digital voltmeter. The specification for the potentiometers is stamped on the case. If there are dead spots when you turn the potentiometer based on a drop at the voltmeter then your problem is with one or both of the potentiometers. I usually replace both since they are usually wired in series.
Worn or bad brushes, worn motor armature, accumulation of brush dust, or a dragging brake can also cause the symptoms you describe. Pull and inspect the motor brushes for wear or burning. Blow out the motor with compressed air with the brushes removed and inspect the brake for discoloration or dragging. Do a resistance check on the brake. It should read between 30 to 60 ohms. The motor coil should read between 0 to 1.6 ohms.
Hope this helps.

When moving foreward or in reverse after letting off of control scooter keeps moving about 1 foot. I have run into doors and other objects.

You don't mention what sort of scooter you have, but 90% of them have the same types of controllers made by two different companies; PG Drives technology and Dynamic Controls.

These, as well as most of the others, are programmable to adjust acceleration, maximum speed, and braking. You have to have a programmer in order to adjust these factors, which means you need to either buy one that works on your model controller, or find a service tech that has the programmer. Call the manufacturer of your scooter with the make and model number handy, as well as the serial number, if you can locate it on the scooter, and ask to speak with a technical rep. He'll point you in the right direction.
