Question about Honeywell 3820 Wireless Handheld Barcode Scanner

Open Question

My 3820 Handheld suddenly stopped scanning Follett barcodes. It beeps but doesn't scan. I've turned off the computer, rechecked all the connections, rescanned the programming barcodes--nothing seems to work. Any more suggestions? The scanner is about two years old.

SOURCE: My 3820 will no longer

srodgers609

One of the problems I had with my scanner is that the USB port that I had the scanner in when bad. My scanner cable was a little short and it put extra pressure on the port. After time some of the connections in the port broke. To fix the problem I had to replace the USB card in the system.

So I would recommend that you tryu the scanner on another computer and/or another USB controller to see if it works properly. If it does you know that it is the USB port. If it does not then I would look at the cable of the scanner.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Press CTRL+F and type "reset" to find sections on resetting the scanner.

You programmed it for usb interface, but the scanner is keyboard wedge. Try pointing the scanner at the "recall defaults" barcode in the manual as you plug the scanner back in.
