Question about Toys
These are a real pain. I really don't want to give too much instruction because I don't know how capable you feel about taking this apart. When i did one, we had to take the base off and the fabric cover off to get to the racheting mechanism. The racheting mechanism locks in an accident and had to be taken apart with a modified allen wrench (pin in center of allen bolt so we had to drill out allen wrench).
I didn't really like using it after that because i wasn't sure it all went back together correctly. Even if we had it together correctly, I wasn't sure it would operate correctly during an accident (to lock the rachet).
Don't pay me for this, just wanted you to know. If the straps are locked, you might want to bring it back to the store, or send it in to the manufacturer for service. Most of these places never really service the unit you send them, they just send you a new one.
