Message: Back cover open. Close the back cover.

You might have to turn it off and turn it back on to reset the message. I have a Brother MFC-240C and it does the same thing.

Have a brother MFC 7420 multi function Machine. Keep getting signal on screen stating ''Back Door Open'' it is not have cleaned, everything suggested still same. can you help ?

The back door sensor is damaged. You could could try and close and re-close the door over and over until it registers, replace or bypass the sensor, or buy a new printer. Brothers printers are pretty cheap, depending on what your time is worth per/hour, I'd would just replace it rather than waste a lot of time.

Brothers MFC 7420 keeps displaying Back Door Open. Have cleaned etc. everything suggested on help websites, nothing works. Help coxmwc@aol.com

The back door is a double door. Inside the gray door is a black plastic paper guide that hinges down, also. Mounted on the inside of that is a thin, black rod, leading to a lever on your right, that swings through a slot in the side of the machine. Sometimes the lever gets bent so it doesn't fit into that curved slot. If that's your situation, gently force it back into the slot so it can block the sensor that tells it the back door is closed, and you'll be printing again.

Message on brother MFC7420 "back door open" when it's not

Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.

This Error Is Reoccurring On All These Units Open Close Back Door Then Unplug For 30 Seconds And Then Plug It Back In. Check For Error.

The Brother Website Says To Check The Paper But Almost All Of These People Have Checked For Paper Problems And For Jams With No Result.
