Question about Computers & Internet

I need to reset my cash register, model is Towa NT-1204. All I want to do is to use it as a simple register. Can you also please tell me what the different key positions are for & which position I need to have it in to use as a simple register? On the register, there are 4 buttons between the Receipt on/off switch & the keys numbered 1-4. Would you know what they are for??? Thank you

Hi, I have like same problem and its an Electric cash register with Model BL-686E, and the machine is new, but suddenly it started doing some system test, which never stopped. Now I have found a way to reset it to stop the alarm and the test, pressing Subtotal+turning power switch on, but now the machine is asking for Manager password and Administrator password to unlock it. I have looked for those passwords from from User Manual, it seems not available. I would appreciate if you would be able to help solve this problem for me to use the machine. Thanking you.

Hi secretary659,

This is a pretty old machine with minimal program options.I think you may find it impossible to get a manual for this. Anyway, I can help you out with the process on how you will reset the machine you might find the instructions below helpful:

Initial reset> key to P and power off for 5 seconds. This clears errors only.

Doing the same with CL button held down and the memory will reset. If you wish to clear any sales data it might be better to take Z reports and to clear the Z counter.

Z Counter reset
key to p
24 X/TIME 0000 [CASH TEND]
25 X/TIME 0000 [CASH TEND]

date and time program
1 X/TIME YYMMDD [CASH TEND]
2 X/TIME HHMM [CASH TEND]

flag programming
1 PO 6 CASH SUBTOTAL [sets decimal point]
2 PO 2 CASH SUBTOTAL [date format]
4 PO 1 CASH SUBTOTAL [nrgt off) 0 leaves on
21 PO 0 CASH SUBTOTAL [drawer open]

You might also want to contact the manufacturer at 020 8839 1000, email info@geller.co.uk because they can send you a copy of the user manual for this machine.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Note: This is from my old notes but should be accurate. I'm afraid it's hard to find a manual for this because this is already an old model but I'll keep you posted as soon as I find one.

Thank you for using FixYa. Have a great day. Jas247

Date&time on et 5616 towa

Hi Reggie,
Towa registers have special programming codes. That is such an old model that codes won't be on the net. You would need to get them from the manual. Try this one:

You need to replace the paper roll. Make sure you use a 57mm thermal roll.---------------------------------

My towa ax100 cash register get error E3

This means you have not finished a transaction. It normally happens when you try to turn the key before you finish. Try turning the key back to where it last was and finish what you started in that mode before turning the key to another mode.
