Question about Computers & Internet
Sometimes it's a firmware issue. If you have very old firmware, an upgrade will fix the issue with the backup battery message.

We have a couple of Pegaso and Falcon Handhelds for Datalogic. We had some of them with Internal Battery problems. We used to send them out to Datalogic for replacement of internal battery but it costs like $500.
We found a company that does the same thing for less. Here is their website - http://supplychainservices.com/
Maybe you can give them a try, unless your handheld is still under warranty. If it is you can send to datalocig for free repairs.
By the way Datalogic Tech told us to never leave these handhelds on their cradles or plugged onto their chargers after the battery is full, as this is the major cause of internal batterries dying out on relatively new units.
