Question about Nikon Coolpix L1 Digital Camera
When I turn on the camera, even with new batteries, it signs on, opens the lens, then displays a message saying "lens error", closes the lens again, and eventually shuts down. The warranty period is over, so should I just throw it in the trash since Nikon won't repair or replace it?
Try turning it on and shaking vigorously as the lens extends. Worked for me.

Get it repaired from a local repairman ,..... we have replaced many lens barrels and gear sets as well as Flex strips which cause this problem ....
