Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My st499 is suddenly failing to work (after a power cut, but that might be a coincidence). There seems to be be no power getting to it - the current time is not showing on the top panel. I can't find a way to get the front off to check what's underneath, or to replace it if necessary. Any help would be appreciated. Vincent

1. Check the air conditioner breaker. Breaker might have been tripped off during the outage.
2. To reset the breaker. Switch it off , then switch it on. Power will be rstored.
3. If power is still not available. Contact your local vendor.

I have Technika oven and both top and bottom elements are not heating. Both dials show red light for power on though not heating.

The red lights may be indicating power is being applied to elements that have failed. It seems an odd coincidence that both elements would fail at the same time.

Our Proscan TV was working just fine then suddenly just lost power, there is power in the cord but the light won't turn on, is there a reeset button or fuse?

No the TV has failed. most likely the main PCB has failed or is shorted. To repair this will be close to the cost of a new TV at current prices.

If your vehicle was taken to the authorised service station then it is important to have a word with the customer service manager with the details of your service history. It seems that while one fault was recified there was some tampering or inexperienced work done on the other section which reset the controls or lack of workmanship.
It is best to get this sorted out failing you can call and make a serious complaint to the area customer service manager or post a comment.

We have a Europower pmp5000. It has been pretty good for us, but during our last gig, during a song, the sound totally cut out. We finally got the sound back by sliding the main volumn control up &...

Very strange behavior. Knowing the electronics within the unit, I see no reason that moving the main volume could restore operation. i tend to think that is a coincidence. Possibility the vibration of moving the control caused it to operate again. Do read the tip about PMP mixers I posted on Fixya about the hazard of channel A output if you use Speakon to 1/4 inch cables or adapters. If this happens again, try headphones and see if the signal still comes through them. There is an electronic fuse that can kill output IF the output current gets too high, but for that one you have toturn power off for some time for it to reset. Since you did not turn power off per your posting, that possibility is ruled out. Normally the sliders will NOT fail midstream and would be restored with any slight movement.

How are you powering the camcorder ? Many will not transfer videos if battery powered, since the battery may fail. Try again with the camcorder mains powered, see if that helps. Have you cleaned the heads with a cotton bud and a little IPA ?

My windshield wipers suddenly stopped working on my '96 Jeep Cherokee. I replaced a fuse that was bad, but they still don't work. Help!

if the fuse failed then that means one of few things...

1.) motor has failed causing excessive current draw
2.) circuit has direct short to ground
3.) short to ground that caused fuse failure is now an open

you need to check for power and ground at the wiper motor

keep us posted

Blower seems to have interuptions in power and sometimes cuts off completely causing the heat pump to shutdown on high head pressure. Could this be the relay? If so, which one - blower relay or time delay...

Hi,
It could be either one, but it will be one or the other. You will need to catch it when it cuts out and see which one is stopping the current. A simple electrical tester will tell you where the voltage is stopping at. Both relays can and do fail, so it is hard to say which one it is.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Coffee comes out cold . it seems to me the heating eliment is not working. is this easy to replace and where can i get the part. iam in cleveland oh. and is there a repair center in my area.

Hi this is tech crazy

The problem in your coffee maker is due to the above said reason:

To keep the heating element from overheating, there are also components such as sensors and fuses. In coffee makers, sensors detect if the coil is getting too hot and cut off the current. Then, when it cools down, they turn the current back on. By cycling on and off like this, they keep the coil at an even temperature. Fuses simply cut the power if they sense too high a temperature. They're there for safety reasons, in the event that the main sensor fails.

From my experience i personally feel that replacing of theses things would cost almost to a new coffee maker machine.

So,its left to you sir/madam to decide upon the new coffee maker machine.

Kindly rate me on the above said soltion
