I have a DVP642/37 player and after a power outage, the only thing that it will do is flash a red light on the standby button. None of the other buttons work. When I select the DVD player via TV remote,...

Hello
just unplug the DVD player from AC wall power socket, and lst it be in that state for at least 10 minutes and the replug and see whether it helps you. If not, the power supply inverter board of your DVD player is faulty. some fault are repairable, and some others are not. Anyway, it will be best to replace this board as card basis, rather than get it repair. OK.

I have a takara godzilla egg and it no longer works properly. appears that one of the cogs slips. this cog is instrumental in winding up godzilla. any directions would be helpful. Regards, Bob

This is a very easy fix. I have a couple of these eggs and they all had the same problem. Count the number of teeth on the slipping main gear. do a google search on slot car gears and you will find what you need. The gear that goes on the slot car motor is what you want. Or, you can send it to me and I'll fix it for you! ckalkhof@oh.rr.com

No picture

Hello,

is your TV connected to a receiver or DVD player? I want to know so that I can detect if the fault is from the video cord that connects your TV to the receiver or DVD player.

Or, you can connect a DVD player to the TV and see if there will be any picture.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say above. Your TV not having picture might be a fault from the display board/ic inside the TV or it might just be a bad wire connecting from the TV to DVD player or receiver.

So try to check the wires at the back of the TV, to be know if its a wire fault or not.

Good luck.

White screen when on... plays sound but screen stays white.

Hello,

this problem is usually common with portable DVDs.

The fault is from the flex that connects the screen to the main board.

Fault also usually comes for screen board and the screen itself.

I would advice that you take it to a repair for checkup so that the problem would be fixed.

This problem is a common one.

I wish you the best and take care

Dvd player not starting up

Hi. In most units of this nature, you will have a stand by mode that will initiate during a major control fault that will concern the main circuit board that is housed inside your DVD players enclosure.

To confirm this control fault within the micro board, i suggest unplugging this unit for 5 minute. this is a hard reset that will drain all power and the micro board will reset itself. After the five minutes are up, simply plug back in the DVD player and power up.

If you experience the same stanby by mode and blinking code light as well after the hard reset, this will confirm the main circuit board control fault.

In this case, you will have to send to the nearest repair depot or, you can ship this device to the manufacture for a main board transplant and re-programing procedures.

Please rate and have a great day:)
