Question about ip-shield

1 Answer

Hello, ip-shield trial version keeps starting on reboot. How do you uninstall this driver/program? ip-shield.net page gives no help at all. I removed it in the device manager, start process drivers, etc. It still starts on reboot!!! Thanks, Tom

There are two things to try. First, in your Control Panel go to "Add and Remove Programs". If this doesn't work, download the free application " Revo Uninstaller" from http://www.revouninstaller.com. One of these should get rid of it for you. Revo Uninstaller also has a part of it that you can stop any programmes that run at start-up if you want to. Good luck, and please let me know at kathleen-john@hotmail.com how you got on.

Service cannot be started either it is disable on window 8.1

It sounds like you have, or had, an inferior Antivirus program and your unit most likely needs to be checked out by your local computer repair shop or, if you don't have the $$$ then there are a few programs I would run to verify the integrity of the unit.

ASSUMING you can at least boot into Windows, here is a list of suggested programs with the URLs so that you can go directly to the sight:
www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/publisher/xplode/
you will want to click on AdwCleaner. This will look for known rogue programs and will give you a list of all the entries it found and will give you the option to "clean". Once this program is finished running, it will auto-reboot your unit.
www.malwarebytes.org
www.superantispyware.com
Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6.2(can be found at www.majorgeeks.com use search engine under the list on the left side).
http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

HINT: most of the above programs come with a free professional trial that you can run for the best results.
You want to make sure you run these programs how I listed them. Also, pay attention to the repair options in Tweaking.AIO to make sure you have all of the options checked that are needed to reset the permissions for your Windows 8.1 OS.

Once the programs have been run and your unit seems to be responding as it was before having these problems, you can uninstall the clean up programs as they can slow your unit down if left on there for any real length of time(longer than the free trial period... usually 14 days). You may need a flash drive if your unit will not connect to the internet or has issues with not wanting to download the programs.

As per a good free Antivirus program, go to www.bitdefender.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for a list on the bottom right that says "Free Antivirus Program" and download the installer. YOU MUST make sure any old or expired Antivirus is removed prior to running the install for Bitdefender.

To do this simply go to your Control Panel > Programs and Features> find the current Antivirus program and click it once to highlight it and then click uninstall from the above menu. Once it has finished removing all of the components it may require a restart. Restart unit and start the installation of Bitdefender Free antivirus. *PLEASE NOTE: Bitdefender starts out at a trial version but, if you register it through Facebook or you a Gmail account, it disables the trial version and becomes a full free version that will stay active as long as it is logged in.

Hope this helps.

If you have any questions or aren't sure how to run any of the programs I suggested, please respond to this post and I will give you a walk-thru that will maximize the efficiency of the scans.

Uninstall hotspot shield

Uninstall the HotSpot Shield Toolbar

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Hotspot Shield Toolbar > Remove/Uninstall. Click "Yes" to confirm the uninstallation. If you are using Mozilla Firefox, go to Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions > Hotspot Shield Toolbar > Uninstall. Restart your Web browser.

Uninstall HotSpot Shield

For Windows:
Go to Start > Programs > Hotspot Shield > Uninstall Hotspot Shield. Uninstalling Hotspot Shield is just like uninstalling any other Windows program. After you finish uninstalling, please open your Web browser and delete cache. Restart your Web browser. You are now done.

For Mac:
Go to Applications. Find Hotspot Shield and drag it to your Trash. Hotspot Shield will be fully uninstalled from your Mac.

Delete gGrabber

You didn't give much to work with, but Open Control Panel, Programs and Features, delete program. I have no idea what gGrabber is? Do you mean vGrabber? Take a look at the: http://guides.yoosecurity.com/how-to-uninstall-vgrabber-toobar-fake-vgrabber-virus-removal-help/ Do you havea UP-TO-DATE Anti Virus? Run a full scan. Download MALWAREBYTES freeware at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL SCAN, DELETE ALL RESULTS. Reboot. Then download CCLEANER freeware at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/. This will clean the junk from your machine. Also in TOOLS, Startup, disable all unnessary startup programs at start. Also this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110909151406AA3nei9

HP colour laserjet 1600 not recognised by USB port

I believe the problem is related to microsoft .NET Framework. I have researched and there are many posts of incompatibility between .NET Framework and many printers not just 1600. My 1600 stopped working and I traced the problem to upgrade to .NET Framework 3.5 I uninstalled 1600, then uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 (and 3.0 as well for good measure), reinstalled 1600 and it is working fine now again. You can uninstall .NET versions using Add/Remove programs on the Control Panel. To avoid re-updating, I also turned off Windows automatic updates. I left .NET Framework 2.0. No problems with other programs but the computer did have trouble rebooting the very first time after I uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.0. Unknown if that was related to the uninstall or a completely unrelated problem. Anyway if you want to try something less drastic than removing .NET versions, check out this Microsoft link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961118
refers to a printer fix related to .NET. In my experience, the Microsoft fixes never work but you are welcome to try before uninstalling .NET Framework versions.

Test Page automatically prints

Disconnect Printer from PC. Uninstall the driver and download most recent driver from HP web site. If there is a print management program which there should be uninstall this as well and download the latest version.

Shut down, not reboot PC
Start PC

Start the install process by installing the print management program installation. Follow the process and test. If it persists try a different USB cable.

Ati2dvag caught in a loop

These kind of problems can be caused by a number of different things, from software to dodgy ram, PSU etc etc. I'll assume you've already done a virus and adware scan-if not, do it now. If that doesn't work, let's start with the easiest to diagnose and fix-the device driver itself. Download the latest version of the Ati catalyst driver from Ati. Uninstall the existing driver(Assuming you're using Windows XP, Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, then find the Ati graphics driver on the list and remove it), remove the grapics cards entries from Device Manager(Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, then click the cross next to "Display Adaptors", right click and choose "uninstall"), and reboot into safe mode (tap F8 at POST screen). Run drivercleaner in safe mode (you can download it from here): http://www.driverheavendownloads.net/ then reboot, cancel the "Found New Hardware Wizard" which pops up when you restart windows, and run the new driver installation program.
