Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/articles/recover-deleted-files-after-format.html
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the usb drive (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the usb drive and recover your files.

Don't be so worried about ur data. There are some gud data recovery software available on internet. But first of all please stop using d drive anymore to increase d chances of recovering files. Then you need rely on professional data recovery tool. Download the software from the following sites http://www.windowsdatarecovery.com/ and follow the steps
1. Install the software on your system.
2. Connect the USB to the system.
3. select the drive(usually G or H for USB) , click Start. Now the scanning process will start to search the deleted files. After a while you will then get a list of recoverable files.
4. Press Recover to perform full recovery.

Suspect you did not do a "Safely Remove Hardware" prior to removing your 4gb which resulted in data partially written as it was being unplugged (the remaining unwritten data would still have been in cache) from your laptop. The result is corruption of the usb memory stick. Formatting will erase all data on the stick but will usually return it to useable condition. If you have valuable irreplaceable data on the stick, there are data recovery services or programs available. Click on the following link for an example...

Dane Elec 4gb USB Not Readable

Try it in a different computer or even a different usb port on the computer that you are using. If a second computer gives you the same error, then the drive is either damaged or its filesystem is corrupted. In the first case there is not much you can do. In the second case you may be able to reformat it to make it work, but you would lose any data that was on it.

I have the dane 8gb usb and i downloaded 225 songs onto it but when i insert it minto the stereo it will only says i haqve 140 whats the problem?

There are many audio formats: mp3, wma, wav etc. It is possible that you have some formats in your drive which the player doesn't|can't recognize.

Check the player's manual to see which formats it can play.
