SOURCE: The Hampton Bay Altura Ceiling fan functions only with remote.

You can hard wire this fan to 1 or 2 switches, bypassing the remote unit entirely. NOTE: You will only have 1 fan speed and no light dimmer. Set the fan at the desired speed and direction using the remote system PRIOR to hardwiring. The fan will remember the speed and direction.

Connect your house wiring directly to black and white (and blue if lighting is required) wires. With a 2 switch system, your third house wire should be red. Connect the blue fan wire to the red house wire.

Your 2 switches will now separately operate the fan and light functions. As stated earlier, you will only have 1 fan speed and will be unable to change the direction, so set your desired speed and direction before you rewire.

Hope this help!

SOURCE: Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote 85095-01 stopped working

if the battery's are good then you broke it and you have to order a new one which you can do by calling the place that you got the fan from tell them what kind of fan you have and let them know that you nead a new remote and they will be able to help you do that.

SOURCE: Light remote control stopped working

First, make sure there are good batteries in the remote.

If light still doesn't work, I would suspect the receiver in the fan ceiling box.

The receiver can be tested with a multi-meter, but if you're not experienced with electrical troubleshooting, it's probably best just to replace the remote system, both receiver & transmitter.

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

I have a Hampton Bay Miramar 60 in ceiling fan, when you try to turn it on the upper light just blinks and nothing else happens. You can't even turn the blinking light off. HELP!!!

Turn off the breaker that controls power to the fan. Remove the batteries from the remote and press the buttons in case one is stuck. Reinstall batteries or new ones. Turn on the fan breaker and try using the remote again

Lights are on all the time, fan doesnt work, remote does not work

I have changed the remotes on 5 Hunter fans in the last 3 months. They have a problem with how some of them mount, that makes them drop down and vibrate loose. If you do not have a wall switch for it, you may want to go to pull chains, or just replace the remote. It is NOT the controller you hold in your hand, but the part in the fan. (never the easy way right?) The remote is not hard to change, but you DO have to let the fan hang from the holder on the ceiling bracket, It gets too heavy to hold while you change the remote.
All but one of the remotes I have changed, came from a mass market type of builder/handyman store, and they have just replaced the part at no charge.

Installing ceiling fan with two switches AND a remote

in your ceiling box should be three wires. a red goes to the three way switches, a black goes to the hot and the white is the neutral. the fan wires are black, blue and white. since you have a remote, connect the [fan] blue & black together with the [line] black. connect all white wires together. the remote will now ramp up your lights from off to full on and the fan remote will let you choose lo med high and off. just tape up the red wire in the box.
