Konica Minolta magicolor 5440 DL started out printing fine with new toner cartridges but is fading away to nothing after 2 months. Very little use, maybe 50 pages. Same thing happened with starter cartridge so I replaced all of them. Help?

Make sure the drum is working correctly. It could also be that the electrical current is not applied to the drum in the printing process causing the toner to fade. Try cleaning the printer heads manually. Hope this helps!

Looks like you need to change the cartridge or get a new printer. its more cost efficient to buy a new printer rather than try to get one fixed. laser printers these days are cheap.

  • Samuel Ward Aug 25, 2008

yes, color laser printers are still cheap.

This is not a cartridge problem, it a the problem with the scanning unit which is not providing the imprint proper on the cartridge drum while throwing a printout. If you are techi guy get the unit opened and clean the glasses inside the scanning unit which will definitely take care of the issue. I have experienced this many times and have fixed the problem myself.

The scanning unit looks like this

The black plastic box is the scanning unit you can remove it open it and clean the dust accumulated on the glasses.
Need further help please ask.

It is because of the moisture.it gives faded copies .this is a very common problem reffered by many of my customer .the simple solution is just remove the cartridge from the printer , take a normal hair dryer, and blow the hot air of that dryer on the drum of the printer.it is a thick alluminium rod.it is very strong, but take care while blowing dont touch it with any pointed material it will be damaged.what mark appears on it will appear on the printout you take.just 2-3 minites not continusly.and after that see the difference of the copy. you will think where is the problem.

no need to clean you just have to remove the toner cartridge carefully from the printer, and then in the toner there is a alluminium pipe mostly green or blue or light blue in colour or some other colour.you can see it clearly in the cartridge.just blow hot air on it not continuosly.you can just make your toner work in 5 minites.thats it.

there is nothing like printhead in this model of yours.it is laser not inkjet.

dryer will definately solve your problem in minites.

  • tech expert12 Aug 14, 2008

there is nothing like printhead in laser printers it is in inkjet printers.and you mentioned yours is laser printer.it also has a thin glass material in it that is called lens. if there is any dust on that lens then the printout gets faded.its easy to open it but the parts are very delicate and can break down easily.so call the technician at your place he will just open the printer and clean the lens.and his charge will be not more than service charge.because your printer is ok he just have to clean it or serviceit.it will take not more than 15 minites.you yourself can try but its risky so i will not suggest you that.

See if your printer has a clean print cartridges option. If running this a couple of times does not get ink on the page, you might have to clean nozzle manually

Toner Cartage

Really Magicolor 2430DL is a very worst printer in this world.
within 2 months drum cartridge finish - no other printer like this type of option - like black, color & durm cartridge.

I will recommend - not to go for the thirdclass cartridge. go for only HP.

thanks

Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300 DL - Fatal Error Code 0EH ????

I had the same problem one time, they told me to pull out all of the toner cartriges, power off, power on, power off, replace all cartridges and the problem went away.

Who knows why. If this doesn't work....

Call Konica Minolta tech support.

They were pretty helpful to me.

Printing toner is very low

Most manufactures supply the new machines with a starter toner. If you replace them with genuine new Minolta cartridges you should yield a lot more!
