Printer driver is missing

The software that came with my printer was for XP. My computer runs Vista. How can I get an upgraded driver for the printer to be used with the new computer?

From HP website you can get it free.

Click here to download driver for Vista for your printer.

On the above page select your printer model and select driver for Vista.

Please be patience as the file size might be large, so it will take time to complete download.

After download you can install your driver.

Thanks and Good Luck

No printer driver support for omniform 5.0 on windows vista. it works on my xp

OmniForm 5.0 is not Vista compatible. The printer drivers are different in XP and Vista so the patch that let printer drivers run under XP won't help. As far as I can tell, Nuance does not have any upgrades for this software for Vista or Win7.

A very inconvenient workaround exists: install XP on your computer for a dual-boot computer.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Lost the ALL-IN-ONE CENTER program w/vista upgrade, help!

Hi tfolweiler,

You should download the same software from the official site of that third party.
For example if it is provided by Microsoft, find the compatible version of that software for Vista.
If you mention the name of that software. sometimes I can further assist you.

How can i utilize the dell 720 printer on my lap top with vista software

Hello,

Just update your driver by downloading printer driver support for Vista on your manufacturers support site. From there you may have to download Printer driver for Vista and Patch/Upgrade.

Run Patch/Upgrade first (requires you to restart computer) before installing the printer driver.

Hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya.

I need to install/update my Canon Pixma iP1700 driver but everytime I run the supposed correct driver/update it constantly fails. This printer worked perfectly on my old printer with Windows XP but I...

Did you do a upgrade to vista from xp? Or is the computer with vista a different computer? The reason why I ask is if you did an upgrade the old drivers and software for xp may still be in the system. The first thing I would do is go into the device manager and remove the printer and un-install any software for the printer. Re-boot the computer and windows vista should detect the new hardware. I would let vista check online for the driver and install it. If it cant't find one the choose the driver you downloaded online. After that then try installing the printer software. Also make sure that when you go to print something that your printer is set up as the default printer.

Canon MP500 all in one printer is not compatible with Windows Vista. Is there a solution for this problem, or do I need to buy a different printer?

My Canon PIXMA MP500, purchased in mid-2006, came with the (then) ScanSoft OmniPage SE2 software on a CD. The PC had WinXP Installed. I had no use for the ScanSoft it so I made no effort to install it.
Fast Forward:
Two PC crashes later, July 2009. Using Win Vista Home Premium
LOST, important WinWord document file, only a hard copy available.
I tried to recover, scanning the "Xerox" copy. The SE Version of OmniPage was very complicated but I succeeded in producing a replacement *.doc file.

It appears that newer editions of WinVista contain the right printer drivers for this Canon Model.
