Question about Durabrand DUR7 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

Durabrand DUR-7 dvd player

Player plays in car on 12v adapter cord, but battery does not charge, input jack is marked DC in 9v or 12v car, does this player only charge via ac current, is there some sort of logic/protection looking for 9Vdc to prevent overcharge ??? and possibly any 115ac to 9Vdc charger will work???

The 12 volt car adapter only puts 9v to the dvd player. It is poorly marked. It really only runs on 9v. If you plug 12v into it it will smoke... thats what mine did.

If it is the power adapter that you are talking about you can find it right here it is the cheapest one I found but you know there is just 4 options so take a look and hopefully that works.

The battery will not charge. The player was bought 10 mnths ago

Test the voltage at the end of the power supply cord. perhaps the cord is broken or the power supply is dead. The output voltage should be listed on the adapter or by the DC input jack on the unit.
