You did not specify a brand, or model number. In any case there is a pincushion problem. Sometimes a bad ground, or leaky diode in the horizontal section. It may be a bad resistor or retrace capacitor. It may be your switching transistor (NTE 2361, see cross references) next to the horizontal transistor. Could be an open coil etc. There are many possibilities. You must narrow it down in the horizontal deflection are of the TV main board. Sorry I cannot be definite in my answer. Sounds as though your screen is in zoom mode. Have a look on the remote for an option button like "aspect" or 16:9/4:3

mine did not fix, picture is still huge and pushed to bottom of screen so the top is black all the way across

take zoom offf on dish and the tv it sel use normal 16 .9 ,mode when u push screen in to it use 1024x768 60 hertz ok
