Solution depends on how many wires are in the ceiling box. was there a ceiling fan in place before? were the light and fan controlled by seperate switches or was there only one switch? if two switches, then there should be two seperate hot wires in the ceiling box. if only one switch, then only one hot wire in box. if only one, then your black and red from the fan will wire together to the single hot. green goes to the bare copper wire, if not one, then not needed

I have a hunter with 3 wires black white green how do I wire it to a three wire cable black red white ground the fan also has a light and remote but remote is Brocken want to use it with no remote model...

Black to Black - White to White, Green to Green (copper). Put a wire nut on the red wire.

The Black is suppose to run the light (or the fan) while the Red is suppse to run the fan (or light). The White is common and the ground is ... well the ground.

If you have a light kit on the fan, you can control the light and the fan separately ... or you can run them together.

Let me know how this comes out ...

I have 2 wall controls for my current fan. One is for the light on the fan and the other is for the fan itself. When I disconnected the old fan, there were 3 wires - black, white and red. What do I...

Both the Red and Black wire are your hot wires. One is probably for the fan side and the other the lights. The white is your neutral wire or common and is used by both. So the wires from each switch are HOT, hook one wire to the black and the other switch wire to the red.

Installing fan & light control (27182) - in the box, there are red, white and black wires. On the control, there are red, blue and black. So, black to black; red to red; right?....does blue go to...

Under normal circumstances, NO! Black is normally power in to a box and to a switch. The switch controls the power out to the red line and most likely the blue line. White is always circuit neutral (ground). Your power will most likely come in via black and then go to the lights on either red or blue and to the fan on the other wire, either red or blue, the color you did NOT use for the lights. Some place you should also have a bare or green wire that would act as equipment ground, connecting to the metal of the box.

I need a diagram for the wiring that goes from the fan to remote speed settings and then to electrical wires in ceiling

all of the white wires connect together and to the white house wiring (neutral from ceiling) ..also the neutral or return wire for the controller (may also be white) .. then the black house wiring(or red if you have an external wall switch) is connected to the controller wire marked AC or AC input .. the output marked "lamp" on the controller connects to the blue wire that goes to the light bulb (or bulbs) ... the output called fan goes to the black wire of the fan motor .. the green house wire goes to either a bare wire, green wire or a green bolt that is screwed to the metal of the fan.. thats the safety ground ...

Wiring instructions are terrible. Ceiling wires = Red, Black, White, Copper. Fan wires = Black, White, Copper. Remote wires = Neutral in(Black), Live In(Black), Light out(White), Fan out(White),...

That is dificult to follow .. here is the usual wiring plan for ceiling fans .. green to green or bare and mounting bracket ... ceiling black and red are live from the switches, fan and light.with a remote you really only need one of these , so cap off the red and use the black as your input to the remote .. the neutral to the remote should be the white .. there are only 3 wires from the fan so I am assuming that there is no light , or the light will be activated from the remote .. the black for the fan and the black for the lights connect to marked wires on the remote. .. lights out, fan out

or looking at your description .. ((Remote wires = Neutral in(Black) white ceiling wire, Live In(Black) blaxck ceiling wire, Light out(White) blue Fan/Light wire, Fan out(White) black fan/light wire, Common(White) white ceiling and white fan/light wires.

Try this, connect green wire to bare wire. Connect both black (power) wires to black wire in the box. Connect the blue wire to the button for the lights, and the red wire with the strip to the button for the fan, and the common for the buttons to the white wire.

Installing a universal remote on a ceiling fan.

your remote modual should have two or three wires coming from the unit on one side to go to the fixture and three on the other to hook it to power , the three should be to connect to the black (power), the white (Neutral) and green (ground), now the unit has power. The two or three coming from the other side should be a white and two other colors or two the same , black, red, or blue, The white connects to the fan white and the other two go to, one the fan and two the light.
