If your computer has flash card readers, you would need to use a micro sd card to be able to use in on your computer. if your computer/laptop does not have a card reader, you would need to buy a data cable for your phone. if you use your pc/laptop's card reader, open your MY COMPUTER folder and it will be drive E. if you use a data cable, your phone should've came with a software cd when you bought it. you have to install your phone's software on your pc/laptop for transferring files using the data cable.

to put songs on the card for your phone to use, you just drag and drop the mp3 file to the MUSIC folder of the card. a lot of people make the mistake of putting it in the AUDIO folder. the phones music player CANNOT read files in the AUDIO folder. it only reads the music files if it's in the MUSIC FOLDER.

How do u put music on the phone

One of two ways... Either order a data cable of of ebay.. $15.00 or less.....
Or get a micro sd card reader.. $10.00 bucks at wall-mart.. If you use windows media player it will sync to the reader... If you use I tunes.. Plug in reader w/ card... go to my computer and pull up the reader. card should be formatted with images, music, vid, etc. Simply chose song from itunes and drag it to the minimized reader, and drop in music slot... Once you have music on your card be sure to go in settings, memory card, remove card, before you take out the card,or you might lose any unsaved data thats on your card...

Downloading music

Format the micro SD in the phone, then use the usb secure digital and adapter that came with your phone, in your computer and put the MP3's you want under the "music" sub file. Place the micro SD back in phone and enjoy. If you are afraid of this removal of the micro SD from the phone turn it off before you go out and in with the card.

Put music on card mp3 player i880 phone

You can use Windows Media Player's "Sync" function to transfer music from your music library to your phone, but you need a data cable to connect the phone to your computer, or you can use a USB memory card reader that allows the computer to see the memory card as if it were another drive. NOTE: The i880 can ONLY play music files in an .mp3 format; if they are in ANY other format, they will not even show up on the song list on the phone.

I have an i880 and i am trying to download music from my computer to my phone

You can only add music to the MicroSD card included with your phone. You will need to use the included MicroSD to SD adapter and an SD card reader. When plugged into the computer, the card will show up as a removable drive under "My Computer".

Motorola i880 MP3 player

Very Simple Solution. I have the same phone.
First you need a Data Cable that connects your phone to a USB port on your PC.
Secondly, go to http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/support/software/html/mp3_software.html
and download the mp3 loader.
Its very easy to use. good luck.
btw, I found a data cable on ebay for $5

I880 memory card

You can not use a 4gb on the iden i880 phone. The most you can use is 2gm that should be enough memory unless you want a lot of stuff on the crad you wont even use that much. The 4gb are the HC which is high capacity and the phone will not read it. Just buy 2 2gb memory cards and you decide what info you want on each or get a different phone...
