Question about ASUS M2N68-AM SE2 Motherboard

1 Answer

Hi, I just swapped out a burnt motherboard for a new asus m2n68-am se2. The problem I am having is that my USB's are not recognized after boot up (ie my keyboard and mouse). I have built several pc's so have done all the normal checking (cleared cmos, checked connections, booting on minimum components, etc.) up to this point. I am looking for any other tricks to try before I RMA. I dont have a ps2 keyboard, so will try to track one down before I return the mobo, but was hoping for any further advice. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Make sure you didn't plug the USB connector for the ports into the Firewire connector on the motherboard.

Hi, I am using the USB's that are built into the board. I have also tried different usb ports and as well as the add-ons. Still nothing :(

Try booting into safe-mode. If your USB kb/mouse work, try uninstalling USB Root Hubs from Universal Serial Controllers then reboot. Windows will reinstall them. I've had problems with having many usb frequently connected and reconnected and sometimes they have problems and windows needs to redetect the root hub.

Sound like you lost the driver or is not compatible. Here are your specs and downloads. The newest one is for Win 7, but it's worth the try. It worked for me.

Is your keyboard directly connected to your computer or is it wireless? What OS are you using? (XP, Vista, Win7). If the keyboard is connected to a USB port, try plugging it into a different port.
