You aren't the only one. I'm on my second device now, only two days into use and I'm already seeing the same issue that prompted the exchange in the first place. Watchdog Lite tells me that "Base System Linux Process" is hogging upwards of 80% cpu and honestly its usually more like 95-99.9% (seriuosly). Another alert I've gotten on this replacement phone is for "init" whatever that is. I know its a system process from color coding, but beyond that I've not been able to find any information online to help. Good luck, maybe this is why Defy is on back order @TMobile as of 5/18/12.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Can not change font SIZE on Motorola Defy, is there any solution??? thank you in advance...

Well, if your Defy is running one of the leaked Gingerbread (Android 2.3) ROMs, go to 'Menu > Settings > Display'. There, you'll find a 'Font size' dropdown menu. Select the size which suits you better. Otherwise, I can think of two approaches to try to workaround the lack of a font size setting under the menu settings:
1) If you you have updated your device to (or if it already came with) Froyo (Android 2.2) - it is avalable on the Gingerbread leaked ROMs too - go to 'Menu > Settings > Accessibility', and tick both 'Accessibility' (this one you can leave ticked for good) and 'Zoom mode' (for this one you'll get a confirmation popup screen). A magnifying square will appear. Untick this setting to remove it. Whilst active, you can move it around by tapping, holding and dragging any of the 4 stripes on its edges. You can also set the magnification level, by tapping on either '-' or '+' signs. If you don't want to keep activating and deactivating it whenever you need it, you can leave it partially hidden, by dragging it to one of the screen's corners, the one which would bother you less; 2) Install 'Any Cut', by Jeff Hamilton, from the Android Market. Then, tap and hold any empty area on any of your home screens, and select 'Shortcuts > Any Cut > Activity'. Wait for the list to be updated, scroll down, tap 'Display' (attention: it's NOT 'Display settings') anf 'OK'. Tap that newly created shortcut. Tap the arrow right below 'Font', select 'Large', and tap 'OK' Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can assist you any further.

How can i import contacts from another phone using no internet and no sim. i have all my contacts saved on my memory card. My old phone is HTC Wildfire and the new one is Motorola defy.

You see, I'm running Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my Defy for some time now, and I'm sorry for not being able to remember how it is done under Eclair or Froyo, but in Gingerbread, the Contacts application is a tab on the dialer one. Anyway, in the Contacts tab, if I go to 'Menu > Manage contacts', there are settings for exporting/importing contacts to/from the SD card. When exporting, a vcf file is generated in the SD card. When importing, a vcf is searched. So, for compatibility matters, I think you should use the Wildfire to export all your contacts, remove the SD card from the Wildfire, insert it into the Defy, and import your contacts from that file.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.

Sir, My recently purchased Motorola Defy 2.2 updated gets hanged often.I have installed only 2 games, car race lit 2 and Angry birds.Whenever it gets hanged i then power off for few minutes and then On it...

You could try to change the minimum free kbytes system control to 8192. You see, Froyo has its default setted to 2845. In a terminal emulator screen, type in:
su; sysctl -w vm.min_free_kbytes=8192;
Hope it works for you.
Just my 2 cents...
Regards, Carlos
PS: please, let me know if you don't know anything about it, E.g.how to root your Defy beforehand, you don't know any terminal emulator application, etc.

One thing that comes to my mind, if your Defy is running Froyo, go to 'Menu > Settings > Accessibility', and make sure to uncheck the 'Voice readouts' checkbox.
Just my 2 cents...
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.
