Download the latest version of N360 from this Link. The web page says after NRT usage but this applies to your situation also.
Make sure you have your product key handy (written down) or stored online in www.mynortonaccount.com . Also, please make sure your system has all the MS updates and patches / Service Packs applied BEFORE you install N360.

Double click on the downloaded file and it will instruct you on the installation. Input the product key when asked or use the link on the bottom of the displayed window to find your key online and apply it.

After installing, run Live Update until it says there are no more updates found. Enjoy Norton 360.

you can run it from the antivirus itself
open the symantec antivirus
at the bottom you can fiind an option as run live update
click on that to run the live update
or go to the following site
www.symantec.com/autotools
from there download intelligent updater and run it in your computr
by doing this you can run the live updates

Can not download all live updates.


If your anti virus will not update try to access an online trojan sccnner Symantec has one. If you can not access the site or complete the scan you most likely have Win32.Worm.Downadup.Gen.
It prevents any access to any antivirus software and windows updates it also turns off any installed antivirus updates. Removal is actually really simple just go here

Hi. Norton can be finnicky at times. I had trouble a few days ago trying to update mine. Gave up one day and the next day it was fine. If you have been unsuccessful for a couple days then I would use the online help (chat) from Symantec. It is very good and is free for 360 users. Access it from the help menu.

If that is not satisfactory, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the product. You will need to be registered at Symantec and have the CD Key. If you choose this you should use the Norton Removal Tool found at:

Select your product. Save the file to your desktop. When the download finishes, run the program. Then reinstall the original program, and run Live Update first thing after verifying your subscription.

When live update fails, it is most likely due one of the following reasons:
· No license file (*.slf) is installed
· The installed license file (*.slf) has expired
· The trial period has expired
· The installed license file (*.slf) has been deleted, or become damaged or corrupted
· The software is not able to able to communicate with the Symantec servers

No license file (*.slf) is installed
It is necessary to have a valid license file installed into the program to authorize it for the download of the content updates using Live Update.
It is necessary to register your license(s) at the Licensing Portal (https://licensing.symantec.com/) to generate the license file if it was not included with your license certificate (*.pdf).

The license file (*.slf) has expired
It is required to have a current support contract to be authorized to have the most current content updates downloaded. If you have renewed your support contract, it is necessary to register your license(s) at the Licensing Portal (https://licensing.symantec.com/) to generate the new license file if it was not included with your license certificate (*.pdf).
This could also be the case if you have a current support contract, but had a trial license key installed in the software. It is necessary to register the support contract renewal to generate the new license file.
The trial period has expired

Many of Symantec's products offer a limited-time trial period where you can test the software in your environment. When the trial period expires, the software will typically cease to function as part of the Trialware installation agreement.

The installed license file (*.slf) has been deleted, is damaged or corrupted
If the license file that was installed in the program has been deleted or is corrupted, it is necessary to reinstall the license.
You can re-download the license file from the Licensing Portal account the license was registered in. The software is unable to communicate with the Symantec servers
The Symantec software must be able to establish a connection to the servers to be able to download the current content updates. If the software is unable to establish the server connection, then it will not be able to download the content updates.
You would need to check your network security settings to ensure the network traffic is not being blocked. If you believe your network's security settings might be blocking the Symantec software from communicating to the Live Update servers, contact Symantec Technical Support for assistance. 1) Close all Norton applications.

2) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]
to [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]

3) Run LiveUpdate
Type [C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LUAll.exe]
into Windows Explorer Address bar and hit [Enter]

4) Restart your computer.

5) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]
to [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]

6) Run Norton SystemWorks LiveUpdate from your Windows Start Menu.

7) Restart your computer.
