Most of them snap in, meaning there are two small blades that are cast into the plastic for the primer bulb housing. These tabs fit into a recess and lock when pushed in from the outside. You will need the entire replacement as you cannot just replace the bulb like is possible on a Zama or Walbro carb. Whatever you do, make sure you mark the routing of the hoses. Its always fun to get them hoses mixed up and then wonder how theyre supposed to route...

I need your help to help you.
Please count the drive links on an existing chain and post back (below) with the number. I have to close this, to post a photo. We can continue if you just reply.
I will provide the correct bar size and a link where you can make a choice, because your saw is so old I cannot match it to anything currently on the Homelite site and I am not willing to recommend a chain without seeing your level of expertise.
You can also take an existing chain to a local saw shop where one can be fabricated in a few minutes.
If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

You need to mix 2.6 ounces of 2-cycle oil (NOT motor oil) with one gallon of fresh gas to get a 50 to 1 mixture. Most 2-cycle oil is sold in small bottles this size and have directions on them to get the correct mixture.

It should be part of the lower plastic casting which contains both tanks that are not removable. If it is cracked, replacement is the only permanent fix. Make sure the oil hose coming from it to the pump is not decayed or split. The entire engine needs to be removed from the base to replace the tanks. Hope this helps!
