Can't communicate on the COM1 port

Is this a printer you have installed and are trying to print to it? Maybe you don't have the printer configured properly. More than likely you should be using a usb port instead of a com1 port if it is a printer. Open your printer and check the properties.

Modems also use com ports, so check your setup if you are using a modem.

Comunication error

At first turn the machine off, and then press the start button, reverse button and auto lock button at the same time.

-Turn the machine back on while still pushing the three buttons. After the machine has powered on, release the buttons.

-Press the + sign at the bottom of the screen, continue pressing each + sign as it appears. The machine will display a "Test Complete" message, turn off your machine.

-Wait 5 to 10 seconds before powering your machine back on, your machine will run through a diagnostic test and repair any issues it finds.

If this doesn't work;

Have you set up communication is to the "COM Port" designation within Customizer/Digitizer.

Go to >ScanCard >Communication Settings > choose the COM Port you want to use (find out what COM port the cable's using by going to your Start/task Bar in Windows>Control Panel >System >Hardware >Device Manager >Ports (COM & LPT).
There, you should be able to see what port your cable's using.

Hope this helps

My computer windows XP can't see/recognize my garmin nuvi 1250. I just bought it .The garmin was made in Taiwan. I have intention to upgrade the map.. coz it is old map (2010).but I cannot register...

Assuming the Garmin communicator plug-in has been installed in the Internet Browser and registered at with a user account - the Garmin goes into (PC) communication mode when its connected to the USB port of a PC.

If that doesn't happen - i'd suspect the USB cable first.

Assuming the cable is ok - including the USB port of the PC - the Garmin must go into (PC) communication mode. If not the Garmin USB jack could be defective.

Work center Pro 575 will not communicate with PC.

I changed the port address to 3BCh-3BF and set the port to SPP. Rebooted twice and all seems to be working. Noticed the WorkCentre wakes up from Power Save mode on reboot, if this happens then all is working OK.

NMEA communication does not work ( but file transfer is OK)

Try rebooting windows, with gps off connect the cable to gps.

Go out side get a good gps signals on nav menu.

Set the gps communications menu to , nmea, 2.1

Plug the device into a good usb port.

If you look under modems, in control panel you should see a new modem called explorist xxx

If you look at the properties for that you can see its com port number.

I just tried this program

and it views nmea from the explorist, just set the com port to the one in the explorist modem .

I am having problems with my PixLab software. What should I do?

Common PixLab Problems and Solutions The software will not start up. • Is the software correctly installed? See the section on “installing and uninstalling software” and ensure that the software is installed correctly. The connection is not stable. Are you running software that frequently issues interrupts at the same time? • If you are running software such as Internet browsers and E-mail programs at the same time as the PixLab TWAIN, you should quit those programs before you start up PixLab TWAIN. If your PC is connected to a LAN or a special in-house network, communication faults may arise due to forced interrupts. Are any power-saving measure settings active? • On some PC models, communications can be interrupted when the PC’s power saving (power management or “Sleep” mode) measures cut in. Refer To the Owner’s Manual for your PC and switch off any power-saving functions before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Are you running utilities such as a battery monitor at the same time? • If your PC has a resident battery monitor program, delete the monitor program before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Try using a lower connection speed. • Select “ Communication Settings” in the “Option” menu and set the connection speed in the dialog box to “9600”. If the connection is stable at that speed, gradually increase the speed until you find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. The PC and the camcorder will not communicate at all. 1 Is the camcorder and PC correctly connected? • Check that none of the cables are disconnected and that all the components are switched. Is the correct communications port selected? • Check “Serial and COM Port Settings” to make sure that they are correct. A Communication Error dialog box appears. (1) Without changing the settings, try to reconnect by clicking on the Retry. (2) If repeated attempts to connect are unsuccessful, click on the Settings and try changing the communications settings. • Change the “Serial Port” setting to another COM port and try connecting again. If you try all the COM ports without success, the serial connection may be assigned to a COM port. • Lower the “Connection Speed” setting and try again. Begin at “9600” and work upwards from there to find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. images can not be captured. If the” PixLab cannot currently transfer images from the camera” message appears and images cannot be captured, check the items listed below. If any of these conditions apply to the camcorder, images cannot be captured. Camera Mode • The Digital Zoom is being used. (The Digital Zoom icon [ D] is displayed on the LCD panel. • The SEPIA or MOSAIC Picture Effect is set to “ON”. • The camcorder is recording. • Edit Search is in progress. VCR Mode • The camera is set to “Stop”, “Fast Forward” or “Rewind”. 2 • Playback Zoom is being used. • The SEPIA or MOSAIC Picture Effect is set to “ON”. • The camcorder is in Audio Dubbing mode. I am getting communication errors. Error Message appears in the display "Your camera or PC is not ready." (Fuji DS, DX and MX digital cameras only)

Most of the time the problem is due to the serial port setting of your PC. Please follow instructions below. Cause Camera is not communicating to your PC. Remedy Please check the following. 1. Cable connection. 2. Camera is ON and in PC mode. 3. Camera's batteries are not exhausted. 4. Go to Communication setting from "Camera" and make sure proper COM port is selected. 5. If your PC has external input device, disable its driver such as "Hot Sync" or similar drivers. 6. If your PC supports PS2 mouse, please use it instead of serial mouse. Then one serial port is available for the Digital camera. 7. Check in the BIOS Setup Screen to make sure the serial port of the PC is not disabled. Also, if your personal computer is equipped with an internal modem or infrared port, it may cause conflicts with port assignments internally that will not allow communication with your camera and PC. In such case, it is necessary to change the COM port setting for serial port. For details, see the User's Manual for your personal computer, or ask at the store where you purchased your personal computer
