Question about Pentair Pinnacle 1 1/2 - Hp In Ground Pool Pump

1 Answer

Every winter the fan (propeller?) freezes up (won't turn) when I turn it on in the spring. I saw someone flip open a latch on the back of the Pentair and used some kind of socket driver to turn the fan manually to loosen it up so it could run. The head of the "screw" that turns the fan is rectangular, so an off-the-shelf driver won't fit. Where can I buy one of these drivers?

Jesidlowski-

The person you saw rotate the fan may have been using a specialty tool, but such a tool may not be necessary. A box wrench or adjustable wrench would work, unless the space is too tight to rotate the wrench properly. If a ratchet wrench is necessary for space reasons, a socket can fit a square nut as well. The size of socket required will have to be determined through a bit of trial-and-error. The nut may also require a socket with a deep throat if the arbor/spindle/axle protrudes well beyond the nut.

Hope this helps. If I've misunderstood your question or if you need additional assistance, please reply to this message.

1995 grand marquis fuel door button not working

when the small spring that flips the fuel door open when the button/ lever is pressed/pulled ,it gives the impression that the control is not working. Check out the problem by having someone operate the control while you are listening at the door. If you hear the latch moving then the spring is broken/missing. You may be able to get to the latch by removing the boot trim and moving the latch enough to open the door.

Door latch

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Open Lever If the microwave door won't open the open lever might be broken. This part can be replaced separately.

Door Spring If the microwave door won't open the door spring may have broken. The door spring is located inside the door and keeps downward pressure on the door hook.

Door Latch If the microwave door won't open the door latch might be broken. The door latch is inside the microwave. The door hook, which is part of the door, engages with the latch to keep the door closed during operation. If the door latch or actuator breaks the door may not open.

Door Hook If the microwave door won't open the door hook might not be releasing properly. The door hook is installed inside the door and normally releases when the door is opened. The hook is made of plastic and will break over time. When this happens it will need to be replaced, it can't be repaired.

Button Spring If the microwave door won't open the button spring might be broken internally. The button spring can be replaced.
Button If the microwave door won't open the button might be broken internally. The button can be replaced.

Handle Actuator If the microwave door won't open the handle actuator might be broken. This is a plastic part which can become brittle over time. This part is connected between the door button and the door latch assembly.

Ge nautilus dishwasher 165d5450p004 latch won't close

RoselsRose,
Thanks for the info about your grandson coming bye the dishwasher and messing with the dial! My son (14 month old) did the same thing and the soap dispenser door/latch would not stay closed. It just kept springing back open. I thought for sure the latch was broke until I saw your post and went to the outside dial and brought it back to off. Sure enough, the soap dispenser door stays closed. You just saved me an expensive repair! Thanks!

Microwave won't start

I have the same problem. Is the light still on inside the microwave? Mine is on and the microwave thinks the door is not shut. I took the top off of the microwave and the latch needs to push down on a switch once shut. The latch was reaching the switch, but I think some spring in the door, pushing the latches down, has broken since it reaches the switch when closed but there isn't any downward force to flip the switch.
I am trying to figure out how to repair the latch but if your light is on when you "shut" the door, you may have the same problem.

Pontiac Vibe hood won't latch

the problem for me was an internal spring that was rusted and thus frozen. the quick fix is to pop off the small plastic cover in front of the latch and pack a lot of thick grease into the openings of the latch to reach the spring. worked for me

Back doors won't open from the inside

Open the door from the outside and while open look at latch mechanism on door.
There should be a small sliding or toggle lever and it only has two positions.
Flip it to the other position...and this should fix it.

This is a safety feature to keep children from opening the doors from the inside...

Hope this helps...

I have the same issue. Just tore into it and found the return spring on the transmission idler pulley is broken. Without the spring the idler pulley arm keeps the belt engaged and wheels turning. The spring is attached to the idler arm just below the belt pulley. Looks like the trans has to come out to get to the spring. I just found the P/N for the spring. Cover won't release think spring broke hoe to fix

Try finding the mounting brackets that hold the springs and anything else to do with the hinge and latch system and loosen them. Could possibly have to remove some until you can get to the latch and release it manually. Worked getting one open on my cousins explorer. Not going to be easy, don't put a cheap spring back into it like my cousin did. uh oh! dhgill1949
