Question about SanDisk 1GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive (413072) Hard Drive

1 Answer

I have a Cruzer USB flash drive 1 GB. I got a message that an upgrade was available, and I clicked on it. But the installation failed for some reason. And now the device doesn't launch properly. It said I might be able to reinstall something, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. What am I supposed to reinstall and how do I do that?

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I had the exact same problem. An update was available so I downloaded it. It failed during downloading without a reason and when I went to open the Cruzer there were dozens of folders with weird lettering or squares. If I attempted to move/delete the folders, I'd receive a warning that it can't be done.

It also told me to redownload it. I attempted to find it..but nothing worked.

This worked for me:

Open up "My Computer"
Under the "Devices with Removable Storage" you should an icon labeled under the drive you placed the Cruzer under.
Right Click the icon and click explore.
You'll then see all the corrupted folders in the Cruzer file and on the left, you'll see a column of your computers hardware.
Right click the "Removable Disk" in the list of computer programs and click Format. Click yes when it says "It'll erase everything."

And hopefully that'll fix it for you.

Activation of keys on an FTAS receivers

Hi,

Your query > "Instructions on how to install new keys and activate an FTA receiver using a 2GB Cruzer Micro Flash Drive with 3 smarth technology"

Generic responses:
1. depending on your FTA receiver (brand/model/version) (BlackBird, MultiStar, UltraStar, Pansat, Digiwave, Viewsat, Coolsat, Fortec, Ariza, Twinhan... or even clones) you would need to download the appropriate firmware/satellite keys using your PC & Internet connection;
2. links to firmware/satellite keys maybe available from your FTA receiver manufacturer's website or forums such as HashHU FTA
3. in your PC, unzip the downloaded firmware/satellite keys to a temporary folder;

If you are using a stand-alone hardware FTA box:
a. plug in your 2GB Cruzer Micro Flash Drive to one of your PC's USB port;
b. copy/paste the unzipped files in the root directory of the Flash Drive. Verify that you have the .bin or .pmg of whatever your FTA box is using;
c. remove flash drive from PC's USB port and insert into the USB port of the FTA receiver;
d. on the FTA box, using your remote, go to Menu, Settings or Sytem Information, keys, firmware or receiver Upgrade, select USB, select Flash, Save, Activate or Upgrade;
e. wait until the FTA box has uploaded to itself the new firmware/satellite keys;
f. reboot (power on/off).

If you are using PC-based FTA satellite receiver:
i. run your FTA receiver program;
ii. select for Tools/Options/Upgrade or Update;
iii. browse/direct to search in your temporary folder where downloaded files were unzipped;
iv. once found, click OK/Update/Upgrade;
v. in some brand/model/version, there is an auto upgrade/update feature which will download appropriate firmware/satellite keys if you are online.

Hope that the this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

My pc doesn't show sandisk cruzer blade 4 gb pen drive whereas it shows others

Sometimes, windwos OS, give same drive letter to different devices, and when you connect both, one is not showing. So, you need to go in to Disk Manage (right clic on "My PC", clic on Manage") and verify if you can assign a different driver letter to your pen drive.

Error message states that there is not enough room

One possibility: you have too many files in the directory. USB flash drives are usually formatted in FAT32 and thus stuck with the limits of the standard. Try moving some of your files into folders.

Second check for a encrypted partition locking part of the disc. If ReadyBoost capable a section of the memory set aside to do ReadyBoost for Windows Vista or Win7 (you'll need to release the ReadyBoost on the computer that dedicated the space).

I hope this helps.

I got amessage which say that USB Devise not recognize

There are different Ways to troubleshoot Your Problem

1. Verify if minimum operating system requirements are met.

2. Try other USB ports
3. Check status of the Cruzer under Device Manager
4. Connect the Cruzer to the PC

If you receive a "USB Device Not Recognized" error on the computer, the flash drive is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.
*. check under Device Manager

  • 1. Right-click My Computer, and select Manage

If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) beside the device, try to refresh the drivers.

*.
STEP 3 - Refresh the drivers
1. Right-click on the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
*. 2. On the top menu, click Action then select Scan for hardware changes.

*... STEP 4 - Verify if the flash drive is detected
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Look for the Cruzer under devices with removable storage.

****************************
Now the Other way
*. There might be a conflict in drive letters, see Resolving drive letter conflict.

PC is not detecting my Cruzer micro pendrive but

I have experienced this type of problem before. But what I did was to install an Avira Anti-virus on a system using windows xp and eventually it did open.

So you can try it as well or insert your flash into any another system that had a strong anti-virus which can enable you scan/format the drive.

Best of Luck

1gb cruzer micro

This is caused by 1 of 2 problems:
  1. Your flash drive is corrupted in some way, forcing the computer to reformat it before you can use it.
  2. The flash drive was formatted for a specific device (like a piano) and was made only for that device.
  3. Your PC incorrectly recognized it
  4. You do not have the correct drivers installed.
If you have problem #4, you can go onto google and search "1 gb cruzer micro drivers".
If you have problem #3, try plugging your flash drive into a different USB port.
If you have problem #2 or #1 (Which it most likely is), then you should try or buy a software application such as PC Inspector, to recover those files. Then you may reformat the flash drive.

However, I found that sometimes, just restarting the computer, and inserting and re-inserting the flash drive sometimes does work. But that's not guaranteed.
