Question about Asko Dishwashers

Open Question

Own an ASKO 1555 Dishwasher (11 yrs old) which currently does not drain. The manual states we could access the outlet pump by removing the coarse strainer and unscrewing the fine strainer inside the dishwasher. The fine strainer seems to be frozen in place. Neither CLR nor white vinegar worked to loosen it. Now the strainer is busted and we still can't get to the pump to verify if that is the problem. What do you suggest? I looked online to order a new fine strainer and the one shown is of a different design. ARGH. What do you suggest we try to diagnose the the problem is regarding non-draining?

Don't. Just attach your hose and the end of the Bosch hose together. Just wind up the Bosch hose and tape it to the back of the machine.

SOURCE: My GE Nautilus dishwasher keeps PUMPING water "out" of the machine during the entire wash cycle. I have removed all covers in the bottom of the unit to see if anything is stock. Used vinegar and CLR

If this convert-able dishwasher is permanently installed, you will have to take off the lower access panel to get to the pump area. If it is still in a portable configuration, it may be easier to lay the dishwasher on it's back or side to do this. Now, examine the pump / motor assembly. There is not a separate water pump on this model. There is a diverter pump out solenoid which get's pulled down to direct the water out the drain hose for pump out, which is suppose to spring back out of the way to allow water to go up to the spray arms for washing. I suspect that the solenoid got to hot and the plunger will no longer slide in the solenoid. If this is the case, you can replace it with a WD21X802. If the arm and plunger move freely, check the spring, or for obstructions in the pump housing, or possibly the diverter arm in the pump housing has come loose from the shaft. The solenoid is the most likely.

SOURCE: Water in drain pump for ASKO D5122XXL dishwasher

Yes, Asko dishwashers can leave a small amount of water in the sump after a cycle completes. At the beginning of most cycles the sump is pumped and new water added.

I have a 1776 Asko model & it doesn't finish its cycle-code mesage f-2 keeps appearing. Can you help me out.

Hi
F2 is a drain error and dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Asko washing machine won't drain.

Further on to this F3 problem I had the issue on model W6461. There is a short cut to the fix, instead of taking off the grey pipe from the drain pump (the hose clips are pre crimped in the factory so as stated above are difficult to remove) try this.
Stages as follows:
1) Open drain pump door (bottom left of machine).
2) Remove black pipe and drain residual water.
3) Unscrew coin trap and remove, use a container to hold the water.
4) Leave the container underneath and make sure you have some towels ready (I didn't at the time)
5) Where the washing machine drain hose connects to the outlet or U bend connector remove this and expose the end.
6) Blow into the drain hose as hard as possible......hopefully the blockage will clear through back the coin trap.

Result:
A large lump of sludge, three of my 5 year olds small counter coins and about a litre of water.

Just ran the machine now and fault cleared.

Good luck

Asko1585 sprayer arm not working

Most likely the circulation pump. On this pump there is mounted a condensator. This will help the pump to get started. If this is broken, it wont circulate the water up to the sprayers.

Our Asko D3112 was not draining, so we had maintenance drain the hoses to clear any blockage but it did nothing. They said it must be our pump not working. I ran one more cycle to see if things went back...

Check your manual to see if you have a drain pan at the bottom of the unit, and a 'float' that checks for water collecting there. On at least some Asko models, water collecting in the pan causes the float to rise, which then changes the operation of the dishwasher. Once that float switch turns on, the diskwasher will always run the drain pump whenever power is applied.
If this is the case for your machine, remove the kick panel. There likely is another panel behind that which covers the 'internals', including the drain pan area. You'll have to remove all of the water in the pan, and that will lower the float and return the controller to normal operation. THen you will have to diagnose the cause of the water collecting in the pan.
Another possibility is damage to the float such that it has turned on it's switch despite no water collecting in the drain pan. I've heard that in some cases a mouse will chew on the float and damage it, causing such machine operation.
In another thread, I posted my solutions to one cause of water collecting in the drain pan. In that case the drain pump was no longer reliably moving water out of the sump area inside the dishwasher. I had thought it was the manual dial control on my d1706 unit, until I learned that the dishwasher has this 'special' drain pan mode.
