You will need to shutdown, (unplug fax machine), open back and close tightly again until you hear a click sound turn it back machine again. It should work. Most of time, it is not securely closed. Thanks

My nikon D-80's flash won't pop up, yet it also won't go past the flash sync speed of 1/200 while flash is down

Was the camera impacted? Sound like the flash up switch if always closed. Remove battery. If you carefully remove the flash cover (two screw underneath) by first inserting a business card under the flash on the rewind side (yeah, we haven't come up with a better term!) at the back and slide it forward freeing the flash down latch), and do not touch the flash tube as there is 300 + volts across it if it is charged!

Look at the pivot for the flash on the release button side at the back, you will see a small switch. the top part may be under the activating rod - reset it above the rod and it will now work properly

Once again, be careful - there are 300 volts across the flash tube if it is charged

Unable to close Cover E of Fuji Xerox c525a

For anyone smashing their head against the wall about this problem I finally found out what the issue is in regards to the C525A Cover E not closing.

If you run into this issue you need to look inside the printer where Cover E is, at the very bottom of this is a piece which looks like the rest of the printer but actually freely moves up and down on a swivel. Put it in the up position and as you go to close it it'll fall down again but this time Cover E will close. Not banging it shut or punching it, it all clicks back into place nicely.

My Toshiba e-studio 233 copier is giving the error message, "Close side cover." Opening any cover to close again changes the message to "Close x" where x is the part opened, until that...

there is a switch at the side that is being push by the cover when it closes check this switch to be sure it hits the button when close or you may replace the switch it has a problem.

I have a Toshiba estudio 202L copier. It has been working fine. When I turn it on, I hear it turning on like usual and see the light come on under the paper tray, there are no error messages, display...

try formatting the HDD (make sure you backup templates and address book if you use them.) To format HDD hold 0 and 8 while turning on the copier, when the machine comes ready key in 690 and hit start. It will then display "2 2", hit start again. Wait for it to say please reboot the machine, turn it off and back on. Hopefully this will work but if not, your HDD will need replacing.

My Brother MFC-8680dn keeps giving me a "Print Unable 72" error message. Any ideas how to fix?

According to Brother Solution Center:

The machine may not work properly because of the condensation inside of the machine caused by a temperature differential between the inside and the outside of the machine.
To clear the error message please follow the steps below:
  1. Keep the machine's power on and open the front cover.

  2. Leave the front cover open for 30 minutes.

  3. Close the front cover.

  4. Turn off the machine's power switch and turn it on again.
If you are satisfied, please rate or/and leave a testimonial. Thanks!

HP officejet copy machine. 7210 keeps beeping and flashing message (very quickly) "Close door" Doesn't appear any doors are open. Copier works but keeps making beeping sound!

Could be one of two things. Either there is a door or cover you are overlooking (very easy to do), or there is a switch actuator that either needs adjusting, or replacing. Try opening every cover and door you can find, and taking out the photoconductor unit, unplug it, and give it a good looking over (front, back, inside). Put photoconductor/toner unit back in, and close all covers FIRMLY. This is where I would start if it were me. Hope some of this helps!!!

Brother MFC 7820N error message "back cover open" but cover is closed. machine is now not functional as error message can't be removed

If you open the back cover (depress the release button on the top right) If you lift it up look for two black anchors that grab the base when you close the lid. I have one that has a broken tab on the left side, which happens to be the same side as the cover closed switch. If the top is not closed all the way the rollers do not line up and the cover switch is not depressed to let normal operation. Also, if the switch arm is busted (case colored plastic push pin protruding from the cover) it will not make contact with the switch when closed. Try closing the cover and push down on left side of the fax. Does the error go away? If not, the actuator arm or the switch are bad.

Fax fixable? error msg

We call the moose method of clearing paper jams, the RCMP method, cuz they only know how to shoot to kill. You did good. Except, there is no such thing as "Bending" anything. The term is "re-form."
