According to the specs and docs on Sony's web site, the 105 doesn't take a memory stick. Some other models, like the 305, do but not this one.

What's the MEMORY STICK 64 MG for

hi,
it is not 64 MG, its 64MB, it has a very low memory capacity, this memory card is used for still snaps, you can find the snap button on the cam, this cam will not support much bigger GB memory sticks.

Memory stick not working

could be a faulty memory stick or could be a faulty camcorder. see if you can borrow another stick or cam to try them, failing that ask you electronics store to test them, they should do it for free....and then sell you something that works ;O)

Make sure the memory stick connectors are clean and the slot on the camera also. put the stick in and out fast 3 or 4 times. The contacts should be gold and not corrode but it doesn't stop a layer of dirt forming

don't want to call you dumb but for anyone else's benefit; double check the stick is the right type. and a compatible storage size

Cannot find sony usb cable to connect cam to pc

This problem has largely been answered by one of people posting the problem. Once the disk has been finalised in the camera remove it and insert it in the PC's DVD drive. If it "Autoruns" you will be asked what you want to do. If you have no third party video editing software on your machine select .....using Windows Movie Maker and "Import" the footage into that program. If the disk doesn't "Autorun" start WMM and import from your DVD drive (probably drive "D"). Use WMM's Help to find your way around.

Is the memory stick of sony handy cam minidv trv-18 expandable?

On many cameras , the picture format that you can save on memory stick is not the same that you can have by recording on tapes. It should be tha same on your handycam.

You can increase memory stick to at least 2GB, that is what sony reccomends, you can test a 4 gb to 16 gb at the shop, if it works , then buy it.

However, the quality of movies grabbed on memory stick, should be far less than the one of movies recorded on tape.

Sony handy cam memory stick pro duo

If the mem. stick doesn't work in anything else then your memory stick may be physically damaged. Just open the card in any computer using a card reader and format it using the FAT file system.

Memory Stick for the Sony Handycam DCR-DVD 105

This camera uses memory stick duo memory. If you refer to p. 31 of the user manual found here:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DCRDVD105-205-305.pdf
It is right beneath the strap.
Keep me posted. I hope you find this FixYa worthy.
Thanks,

Memory stick error

hi bubba9

if you are using the handy cam just look at the specs on the manual to determine what memory card is compatible. based on your info it is unlikely that the camera even supports 4gig of memory. You should try the smaller sony memory stick up to 2gb only and it should work. good luck

smeags.
