Question about Computers & Internet
When I finally installed Internet Explorer 8, I was reallyfrustrated when I tried to do a Microsoft Update (or Windows Update) as I fellinto an infinite loop of checking for updates. It would continually spit meback out to the 'getting started page' and then try to update my Active X andthen give me a “Check for Updates” button, over and over. I found the solution, and here is what I did:
Apparently, you need to reset the Windows Update Agent. In my case, a previous update was inhibiting the re-install of this “agent” so I had to force it to re-install. Here is how:
"C:Documents and SettingsjoeblowDesktopwindowsupdateagent30-x86.exe" /wuforce

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
