If the filter is clogged would it quit working

Hi there! If the filter is clogged this will cause the vacuum to lose suction and possibly shut-off. Below are instructions to checking and cleaning your filters.

1. Remove the dirt cup. Twist off the dirt cup lid.
2. Remove the filter cartridge from dirt cup.
3. Separate the foam and cartridge filters. Wash foam filter under running. Allow 24 hours to air dry outside the vacuum.
4. Tap the excess dirt out of Hepa filter. Hepa filter may also be washed. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
5. Check the secondary filter by removing the filter cover from base. Rinse the foam filter under running water until it runs clear. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
6. The red baffle tube inside of the dirt cup is apart of the filtration of the vacuum and needs to be cleaned as well. Twist out the baffle tube by turning 1/4 turn clockwise. Remove any hair or debris wrapped around baffle tube. Baffle tube can be rinsed if needed. Allow to dry thoroughly.

If the filters are too dirty they may need to be replaced. With regular maintenance the filters should be replaced about once a year. Follow the links below to order replacement filters for your UH20020.

There is a thermal sensor in the motor which shuts power off if it gets too hot but usually it won't turn back on until it cools down. It seems you might have a defective switch

My Beaumark popcorn maker isn't working! I have the type that is a large domed electric pan, with a metal 'stick' that goes around to move the kernels (presumably to stop them from sticking?)....

your problem is in the instructions.. you need to make it a little hot, means run it on empty for a few min. stop the machine, and add 2 tablespoosn of veg. oil your fav. oil, not olive. add enough pop corn to fill the inner circle surface of the bottem plate, then run it again until the bowl is full.. maybe 5 min. You should have perfect bowl full of pop corn.
enjoy :-)

I suspect that you have a restriction. The motor sounds like the thermal break is stopping the motor before damage, due to heat.
You must witness that the entire suction and discharge side are clear. This is not always very easy, but necessary. I bet that you find something blocking somewhere...

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. Trips

The switch could be bad. Make sure there are no clogs anywhere that could be causing it to overheat. Try to bypass the switch and run it just long enough to see if you can go longer than the normal 5 min. you're getting. If you can then replace the trip switch. Do not continue to use the machine without the trip switch operating properly or it could catch on fire.

I turn my dyson on and it runs for 5 min then turns off

The symptoms you describe are typical of overheating. That indicates that there's a blockage somewhere. Follow the instructions in your user manual for removing blockages (or you can download a copy from Dyson website if you need to), and make sure the filters are clean too. That should solve the problem.

sounds like the motor is overheating .check and see if the brush roller is turning when its on.if its hard to turn or won't turn at all take it back where you bought it and insist on a new one.my thoughts on new items is if you buy something new then it shouldn't have to be fixed.insist on it.please leave feedback...pete
