How to expand ram

I depends when your computer was made.
It seems that from the information your have given, that the maximum memory of your computer is 4GB. You have to specify / choose the amount of RAM at the time of purchase (2GB or 4GB) because the RAM is soldered into he computer.

Hello, my pc is very slow and it has very few memory. If I add memory, is it going to be better ? I can't make updates for example... thank you

It depends on what you are calling memory. There are 2 things commonly called memory by users. One is the hard drive where your operating system lives and all your files are stored and the other is the "RAM" kind of like your short term memory where programs are loaded into while they are running.

If its the RAM which is low on space then it is quite possible that upgrading it so there is more would most likely help.

If it the hard drive which is low on space it maybe possible to just have a clear up of your files to free up some space.

Thanks

The Specs say that Ram is expandable to 2GB but can it go higher? to 4GB?

As it hasn't got dual core to utilise the full 4Gb or a bios to accept it, there is not a lot of point in going further than 2Gb.
Hope that answers your question.

4gb of ram

Go to Crucial Memory's site and run the "scan my system" option. It will tell you the exact amount of memory your computer supports, how many slots are empty and what is in the occupied slots. The link is www.crucial.com

Want to add memory all 4 spots are used

If all of your memory slots are used, you will need to remove the memory that is currently installed in order to increase your RAM. It appears that the T180s were originally configured with 256MB, but they are expandable to 4GB. If there are 4 slots (I couldn't find any documentation with images), you can use a maximum size of 1GB modules for each slot. Just remember that if you are using a 32-bit operating system and you upgrade to 4GB of RAM, you will not be able to use all 4GB. The BIOS will report 4GB RAM, but the operating system will only see approximately 3.4GB.

My windows not shwoing whole RAM size

What you are seeing is correct. You have 4GB of physical RAM installed in the computer and it is being recognized properly by the BIOS. A 32-bit operating system can only address approximately 3.5GB of RAM. Vista may be rounding the number down to 3GB or if you are using on-board video, some of the RAM is being allocated for use by the video circuitry and is not reported as system memory. To see all of the installed RAM in your operaing system, you need to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Vista.
