I have a xerox phaser 6280, i keep getting this message say i need to " Check Cyan " cartridge. but its a brand new cartridge, its full of ink. can you please tell me how to fix this issue.

Remove the cyan ink cartridge and shake it. Be careful not to spill any toner. If that does not solve the problem it is most likely a dirty sensor. What I usually do is remove all toner cartridges and blow out the inside with an air compressor. Be very careful when doing this and try to use very low pressure so that nothing gets damaged.

Try to clean all connectors of cyan cartridge with alcohol.

Hi Anonymous,
I suspect you should have this problem sorted by now.
Looking at the Xerox website says that a replacement printer is available for around £190 that could have worked out cheaper that trying to get this one repaired.

Xerox Phaser 6280 Y CRUM ERROR


The yellow cartridge either has a corrupted chip, or the wrong chip, or its a cartridge from a different model of printer.

Xerox 6180 and 6280 cartridges LOOK the same, apart from the label and part number - the chip is different.

My xerox Phaser 8550 has steady orange light and a message "Low Ink"


it may be the cartridges are dried up from being stored incorrectly take them back get new ones to rule that out first !! Hope this helps!!

Changing waste container


The is no waste container on Phaser 6500. There is a "waste collection box" in every toner cartridge and the waste toner is discarded along with the empty cartridge. The is also a waste toner reservoir on the transfer belt and this one will be replaced along with the transfer belt.

If there is an error message saying, for example, "Waste Full Cyan Cartridge", it means the waste toner counter reached the replacement value for that color and you have to replace the corresponding cartridge. But the waste collection box is not really full.

I have a Xerox phaser 7300 that keeps telling me to install or reseat the black cartridge


It is slightly unusual for it to be the black toner cartridge (usually cyan or magenta) but this issue is quite common on the 7300. You can find a lot of information about this here.

Can Xerox Phaser 6280 be refilled by Consumers?


The 6280 uses a specially designed toner called Emulsion Aggregation toner. This is a special type of toner made by Xerox. Sice it is so new and patents exist, I doubt that anyone can legally make the toner, even if they posessed the equipment and the expertis. Refilling with non-EA toner is asking for big trouble.
