My DIR-615 Dlink router always has the Orange globe. How am i supposed to fix this, the modem works perfectly fine as i tersted it without the router and internet works. But my wife needs the laptop and it's wireless int he kitchen. The router used to work but now it doesnt...

I would hard reset the router (instructions at the below link). Then with the wireless computer hard wired to the router reboot the computer.
If this doesn't work you may have a burnt out router. I am also including a link to the Dlink Forum.

In the web interface of dir-615 switch it to router mode, adjust wan connection (username, password... depend on your Internet provider, in fact, it is easier to ask their tech support to provide all necessary information) then configure wireless network.
