Remove power supply from PC, connect it to AC power, then connect green wire with any black wire.
If it starts - check 12V AC, 5V AC.
If it doesn't - there are no user serviceable parts inside, just replace power supply

Lamp never fires Unit goes right to cool/shutdown.

The ballast might have gone bad, you'll need to check the output voltage of it. In some projectors, the power supply/ballast are combined as one PCB instead of 2 separate boards.

Top freezer not cold fan isn't always on either

Hello Fred;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

I have a top freezer because they are the most reliable and least expensive to repair.

It sounds like one of several problems:

Unplug your unit. Remove the back panel of your freezer. You may

1.) Frozen drain - Your unit will go through a defrost cycle every 8-10 hours. When this occurs, your unit will shut down for 20-30 minutes and your defrost heater will turn on. Everything will shut down except for your lights. Then your unit turns back on.

There is a drain hole behind your freezer back wall. This is easily unplugged with warm water. If the drain hole is plugged up with ice your cooling coil will become blocked up. This may also prevent your cooling coil fan from running.

2.) Cooling fan is starting to go - If your cooling coils are not plugged up and ice is not restricting your cooling coil fan, then perhaps your fan is starting to go. This is a easy replacement. Lets check - You need a multi-meter to do this. You can purchase one for about $25.00 at Lowes or Home Depot. This is a good thing to have. It will save you a lot of money with repair on all of your appliances.
Set the multi-meter to the lowest Ohms (Omega Symbol) With your unit unplugged, You have three wires to the motor. Disconnect them all. The small one is a ground wired, the other 2 are power wires. Put one meter lead on the one motor contactor and the other lead on the other contactor. You should get a reading of "0" Ohms if the motor is good. Anything else the motor the motor is bad.

There is a temperature sensor on the upper right hand side of your cooling coil. If the back of this round 3/8" diameter sensor has exploded, them you need a new sensor.

Give me a model number on your fresh food section side wall near the top and I can be more specific. Call be @ 443-306-1362 and we can take it from there.

How do i know if my jazzy power charger is working

Without the charger the batteries would go dead. You could put a voltmeter across the batteries and you should read more than 28 VDC while charging.

The air comes on and blows, but the fan outside doesn't spin....tho the air feels a bit cool, the apt never cools off

hello, if the compressor is running and yet the condenser fan motor is not most likely you have a bad capacitor to the fan or if it's a dual capcitor the fan side is bad. Another possibility is the motor itself could be shot but you would need a meter to check. with the power turned off and take you meter and put one meter lead to the ( common) wire and take the other meter lead to each additional wire coming from the motor one at a time, if you dont have resistance between any of the wires then the motor has a open winding and should be replaced.

Cooling fan running slow

test the leads that attach to the fan make sure they have a secure seating and are not faulty also
the fan itself might be faulty
you might test your PSU power supply unit with a multi meter make sure its sending out the correct amount of power/wattage

Fan on my big buddy heater just stopped working changed batteries still not working?tried the switch nothing .i only have radiant heat.

I would first check the wiring connections to fan and get a multi meter , set on 12 volts dc and see if fan motor has 12 vdc input voltage.
Too cheap to buy a voltage tester at wal mart ot harbor frieght, you can use a 12 volt bulb and socket, if you already have one. Remove fan wires & hook up 12 volt light bulb & if it lights, you got the juice. Carefull, dont let live wires touch because you short out $26.00 big buddy fan transformer. work with fan transformer unplugged from wall and dont plug in until you sure no wires touch.
use electrical or duct tape. electrical tape better.

otherwise, just buy the multi meter, they only $8.00 to $10.00
read & understand instructions, before you try to use it. otherwise, you could burn out your new meter.

well worth owning &
learning to use multi meter. I use it thousands of times.

if fan motor has juice but wont run, check fan shaft to see if it turns freely or scrapes or is stuck. oil fan motor bearings ,change the brushes.
make sure that the fan blades are not touching the fan housing and can turn freely.
if it still dont work, buy new fan motor.
if no juice at fan motor, check mr heater switch with the power off, unplug transformer from the wall or remove batteries.,
and use the ohm meter setting of the multi- meter to test for continuity of the switch when the switch is in the on position.
power must be off when using the ohm setting of a multimeter.
if power is on & using the ohm setting of the multi meter, you will blow out the multimeter. The ohm setting uses a 1.5 volt dc battery inside the multimeter to test for a compleated circuit.
so, 12volts dc would blow it out on ohms setting.
TESTING FOR OUTPUT OF FAN TRANSFORMER OR BATERY PACK.
If the switch is good, reinstall it on mr.heater and test the output of the transformer or battery compartment using the 20 volt dc scale of the multi meter. the voltage scale you select ,must be higher than the voltage you expect to find ,in order to avoid damage to the multi meter.
observe polarity, positive to red and negative to black.

the dc voltmeter setting is totally polarity sensitive and a reversed hook up could blow out the meter.
multi meter means it can read ac volts, dc volts, ohms and dc amps. Read and understand the included instructions before using a multi meter
a good single battery in new condition reads 1.62volts dc
1.5 vdc is almost dead, a good used battery reads 1.58 to 1.6 vdc
below 1.58 vdc is weak battery and 1.48 vdc is usually totally dead, but may be enough for momentary usage under 1 minute.

Oven jjw9527aab fan runs continuously even when cool and now shows F2 alarm message

The F2 error code is due to the temp sensor is registering a tempature over 600 degrees. So the reason why the convection fan is continously running is because the ERC thinks the oven is overheated and is trying to cool it down. It is probably a bad tempature sensor or oven relay board. You will need to test the tempature sensor with an OHM meter. They usually will read 1000-1100 OHMS at room tempature. If you get an open read or a incorrect OHM reading then I would replace the tempature sensor otherwise replace the power relay board if the temp sensor is reading correct. But try unplugging the power to the oven for over 10 minutes first and then plug it back in. This will reset the ERC and might fix the problem.

Computer won't turn on

check that the switch on the power supply has not been accidentally bumped.

It should be on the - side... not the o side.

0ce2ac5.jpg
There could be a variety of other problems including the power switch.

Possible reasons a PC will not power up:

Failed Power Button.
Power strip breaker tripped - are there other items plugged in that work?
Failed memory Module.
Failed CPU.
Failed CPU Cooling fan.
Failed power supply.

You will need to test each item with a Digital Multi Meter (DMM) and verify 12VDC at each item. CPU and Memory can only be tested externally by a shop with a reader.

What's the deal? Wont shut off or respond to thermostat. . .

Red= power........White=heat.............Green=fan.................(grey)-(yellow)=cool .....these are the connectons. Disconnect these wires from the thermostat and know that red/power is the only wire that send power to the thermostat, and the rest sends it back to the unit to call for whatever,, red--to . white for heat... red to green for fan .... &red to grey for cool! OK! Turn all your power on, and use a jumper wire from red / green for fan and see if the fan comes on! Then move the jumper wire from red to green , to red / to white for heat and the fan , wait for 3 minutes before removing and going to the next step. Then red /to grey for cool and check if the outside comes on. Either you have a wire touching past the insulations and making a connection, a bad thermostat ,oe excessive wire lead touching the next connection.Thank you very much!
