I smell a burning smell. when i open the dryer, there is smoke

You have something between inner and outer tub remove top cover smell coming from air vents of outer tub then that is were it is
fun job its has to come all apart

Smoke or steam?? May have been a problem with the heater staying on ??

i just had this problem. Did you notice the lint buildup under the lint drawer? Well, there is no way to recover that lint, it is not accessible by the consumer. So the lint bits get sucked in to the out take which actually pulls across the hot element. The "solution" is to replace the element and the parts surrounding. It is very expensive, and does not resolve the issue. The lint will continue to be drawn across to that area and build up and become a fire hazard. I am about to try Bosch for a solution, but that is what they have told me for now. Eventually this make/model of dryer will burn someone's house down. I am very glad I was home when the smoke detector went off. I will have to get a new dryer.

Sounds like the motor went out. Before trying to start it it needs to be inspected. If you are not comfortable opening up the cabinet then I would would recommend calling a service tech. If you need further assistance please let me know.

if the rug has a rubber side it will melt make sure dryer is clean and no left over burnt material ..

first is first ,,, disconnect dryer from plug,, now open bottom panel 2 screws ,, now go and get youre vaccum,shop vac, anything ,, reason for burning smell ,, usually catching on fire ,, we recommend do this 1 as year,,, after cleaning , put about 2-3 fabric sheets inside dryer and let it runn for about 30 minutes to remive smoke from drum,,, thank you

Get the filter housing out of the machine and wash it out. Blow out the blowers housing. Change the control thermostat.It mounts right next to the fuse on the back:

you can unplug the unit , and reomve the lower aces panel (3 screws along the front bottom of unit) youll probalby see an excess of lint built up in which case you can vacuum it out, and then check/clean and or replace your dryer vent

check the power cord itself, if you see on the back side of the cord a burnt or blackened spot then the cord is the issue

clean the venting going to the outside and the dryer really ahould be taken apart and delinted to avoid a fire if the unit is older
