Question about Kenmore Dryers

I'm owner of Coastal Appliance in Ormond Beach FL. I have model# 110.85088400. The dryer works intermittently. I've replaced the door switch. 2 days later... same thing. I replaced the board thinking a bad relay on it. Same thing after 2 more days. It just goes completely dead but maybe a day or 2 later lights back up again??? Help!

    ok.. I'll check the 220 again and probably order another board???? Is this what u would do? The interface "could" be bad? U do mean the touch panel assy?

    Ok, I'm going to order it today and there is 240AC to machine.

I've read your post and I guess the thing which comes to mind immediately is what other symptoms of this scenario are there ?

You replaced the main control as you said for suspecting a bad relay. Was there power to the control, or at 240 at the plug ?

Being it is such an intermittent problem it really would be best to know if the unit loses complete voltage supply or just the display/user interface ?

If you can confirm there is voltage at the control board, yet the display/console is dead, it's a user interface problem.

Let me know what you can and I'll try to help you any way I can.

    Hello again,

    OK, if you can confirm there is 240Vac present and the display is dead, I would replace it...but not the control board, the user interface/touch panel...yes.

    I actually just recently had a similar issue with a HE5 Kenmore...almost the same machine. ( I work for sears )

I have a Maytag Performa model #PYE2300AYW dryer. The issue I'm having is the dryer stopping all together midway through the drying cycle. You can get it to start back up by pushing down on the selector...

Yes, you can have a few different issues going on with your dryer and it may be hard to pin down. 1. You may have a intermittent door switch. I've seen this many times. 2. You may also have a motor that is tripping it's overload. 3. You also may have a timer issue. This may be difficult to fix on your own so you may want to call a pro. If it was me, I'd check the door switch or replace it. If it's not that, you may want to consider a new dryer due to the high repair cost. Hope this helps,
