Why won't dihwasher stay running

What brand and model number is it? How far does it get before it stops? (or how long does it run?) Does it drain the water out, or does it just stop in the middle of a cycle and leaves the water in the machine? Really, we need more information before we can venture a guess as to what is worng.

GE dishwasher leaking somewhere from bottom, what are common problem ares for this to occur?

There are o-ring seals around many pump motors where they install in the bottom of dishwashers. There are also shaft seals which separate the electric motor from the pump unit. In order to research your options you need to know the GE model number and often the serial number.

There are many web based parts search engines to find out what your parts might look like. If you will find the model number located on your unit, then Google GE appliance parts. You will be led to a number of sites which you can then view exploded parts diagrams of your unit, part numbers and usually prices. I try to get an idea of parts price range by looking at several sites and then call my local parts supplier to see how they compare. I buy a lot of parts on line. You can often purchase OEM parts from on line dealers at a savings compared to local brick and mortar sellers even including shipping.

Wash water not hot enough

You may need to replace the thermistor, which is the part that determines water temperature. Before replacing the thermistor check the inlet hose at the back and check that water pressure from the house is enough.

To locate parts and diagrams, please enter the full model number, as witten in service tag, in this website.

The door just drops open. I guess that a spring broke. Do I need to call a serviceman to come? Can I order the part and ask my superintendent to repair it?

You should be able to do it yourself if you can slide it out from the cabinet. Post your model number HERE and you can see your parts you can order and diagrams to help. Part 11 is your spring. You need to make sure that's all you need so look at yours.

Maytag Mod. MDB4050AWW

Check inlet water flow. Clean the strainer located near the hose end on the machine.

Check the water pump and it's electrical connections.

Won't drain standing water

If it leaks from the sides it is overvilling, in that case check the water level switch.
If it leaks from the bottom check the water level.
Then check the drain hose connected to the pump, see if it is blocked.
If the drain lines are ok then the pump is not starting.
Double check that water level is OK.
The pump is tested by energizing. If the pump is working then it can be wiring to timer control or timer control board.
Test and repairs must be done by qualified pesonnel.

Rusty racks

Check your warranty to see if it covers your racks. Some models have a longer warranty against rack rusting if you have Duraguard racks. If they are Dura guard racks and still under warranty, Maytag will replace them at no charge.
