Hoover floormate fh40160 won't dispense solution


Hi there! Sometimes it is necessary to prime the trigger to get the solution flowing. Try these quick steps.

1. Recline the handle.
2. Pump the trigger vigorously about 60 times.
3. Power the cleaner on and squeeze the trigger for 60 seconds.

The cleaner should start to dispense the solution. Be sure you are using only the recommended cleaning solution to avoid internal damage. If your Floormate is still not dispensing there could be an issue with your pump. We would recommend taking the cleaner in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. How can I fix my Hoover spin scrub 50 solution trigger? It is not working.


Hey there! Sounds like you have no tension in your trigger. This could mean a problem with the trigger spring or control rod in the handle. Try reassembling the handle. Remove the two handle screws and slide the handle up and off. Inspect the control rods for damages. They should be the same length. Make sure they are pulled down as well. Reassemble the handle. If the trigger still has no tension but the cleaner dispenses from the hose, a replacement handle may be needed. To replace the handle, follow the link below.

The main trigger might have broken. This is common if the trigger is pulled too hard. You can take the handle apart on most units and replace the trigger. Usually the broken spot is where the trigger pivots.

I just bought a hoover steam vac model F5914900 and the clean water tank is leaking. I tried pressing the clean surge button and the trigger button that was suggested by someone else but it won't


Go to Hoover.com and find a local Service Station. They will replace it at no charge. MUST be a warranty location to get it free. Take your sales slip with you.

It is not dispensing the shampoo on to the carpet.


Hi,

Firstly, please ensure that there is shampoo in the tank and the tank is correctly and fully inserted. There are 2 ways to dispense shampoo on to the carpet:

1. Use the solution trigger on the underside of the handle (numbered 2 in the picture below)
2. For tough stains use the "Clean Surge" button to dispense extra shampoo (numbered 3 in the picture below

I have bissell proheat 2x 9200 no water or cleaning solution is dispensing from bottom of machine hand dispenser is not working too. how can I troubleshoot it?


Ensure you have water in tank and solution (or water in solution tank). When you start the vacuum up, the pump starts to prime itself. If you have air in the system, it takes a little longer to prime. Allow the vacuum to run for 1 minute before attempting to pull the trigger. Then pull the trigger.

If this doesn't work, you'll need to open the unit up and check the hoses for any clogs, and next test the pump to see if it is functioning.

Cleaning solution tank dumping


in some cases the reservoir that the tank sits on would have to be replaced. best way to tell is, if you take the tank off and pour a little water in the valve where the rubber gramet is. if it holds the water its good, but if it goes down without you pressing the trigger then it will be the reservoir.

I would check to see if the trigger is still pluged in it sound as if the trigger is not pluged in or it is hung up.

When squeezing trigger and Depressing Clean surge Button on Upper handle of the Hoover Steam Cleaner F5914-900 there is no & quot; snap& quot;
indicating trigger rod is in place. Everything else went in as instructed. The screws and bolts were no problem
this concerns me because the main complaint I read about this model was leaking from the trigger and clean surge and the problem was not getting the rod in place. No matter how many tries or people (three) it still doesn't occur.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I would suggest getting a schematic, owners manual or product breakdown to see what you are doing wrong or to check with the Hoover tech support line to see if the can either mail, fax or email the schematic to you so that you can complete your service job. There is something definitely happening with the serv job that we are overlooking and the schematic or product breakdown will help in the serv job you are doing, it sounds to me that you are doing things right but there could be another broken part or while installing the current part may not have been install properly, or is in need of an adjustment.
