Are you calling someone? or trying to text and that message appers? if so then you are having network problems. the best solution i can give you is to turn off your celphone, and turn it on again after 5 minutes. try to text or call and if the problem still exists. try to turn your celphone again, remove the battery and sim. (you need to refresh your sim card for network connection.) after a minute put them back to your phone and try if that would eliminate your prob.

Do you mean the status light on the handset or the one on the base? The status light on the base will be on if the answering system is on. The handset status light will be on but steady when the handset is on the charger. (It's a battery charging indicator in that case; take the handset off the charger to stop the charging system. It provides a trickle charge to offset the battery discharging over time) The light blinks to indicate new messages are available on the answering system. Press the Play button on the base or the Messages/Mute button on the handset to play new messages.

I had the same message. After a length investigation, I found it was the phone line and not the phone. After having the phone line fixed, the phone worked fined.

From FixYa Support:

- unplug base unit for 15 seconds
- press "PROGRAM" button on handset
- from menu, select "HANDSET SETUP"
- from menu, select "REGISTRATION"
- handset display will prompt you to press and hold PAGE button on base unit for 5 seconds, then press "PROGRAM" button on handset

Perform steps for each handset. You may need to plug base unit and unplug for each handset.

On your handset, press the Mute (the button also has an envelope to indicate messages). Press 5 on the handset to stop the playback of messages (if any are on the machine). When the handset beeps, press 8 on the keypad of the handset. When you hear "Record greeting", then speak your message. When you are done, press 8 or 5 to stop recording.

Note the answering machine must be on before you start. Press the On/Off button on the base.
